Canon ip1800 paper will not feed

This is the second one of this brand and type that I have had the first one was returned for the same problem. You insert paper and it seems to try to feed the paper but it does not the corner of the paper near the roller just ends up crinkled and it doesn't feed and I get an error that pops up stating load paper. I do not see anything missing from it and I have been too frustrated to look at it for months so I can not return it. Any idea what I can do? I got it to work one time in the last 6 months.

Your paper feeder has lost some up your printer then look for the round paper feeder that has a rubber on will find out that there is a small plastic that has been broken.get a screw or any kind of metal to replace it.

Paper not feeding through properly

If paper ream was humid or the paper stick to each other then there can be a feeding problem. Loosen the sheets by ruffling the sides and put in the feeder, adjust the side aligners to fit paper snugly but not very tight

Paper not feeding through - paper jam

You are probably putting too many pieces of paper into the tray, forcing more than one piece of paper to get sucked into the printer and jamming

Printer is jamming when paper is trying to feed, on right side

There are two possible problems:
1. A part that holds the feed roller which normally breaks in the Canon iP1800 series
2. The spring that guides one of the gears at the rear of the cartridge parking position is loose.
This is the usual problem I had with my canon printers, I had 80 printers in the past two years.
If you can dare to dis-assemble your printer, I might be able to guide you through it.

Canon ip1800 will not feed paper...One side jams and when I take the paper out, the jammed corner of the paper is folded under.

canon has a friction feed system,

clear the paper path and check if there are any small paper peace,

clean the pickup roller by a waterized cloth,

proper set the paper guide and try print again.

Printer either eats up paper or won't print anything out

what you might try is to find some thing that has been laminated on both sides and manuall feed it in to the feed rollers and see if you are able to push out what ever is in the paper path making your paper go in crooked. brother tech

Paper not feeding right

Hey. I too am having that problem with my ip1800 canon printer. It makes a weird "clicking" sound whenever I turn it on, and then when I try to feed it paper, the sheets either get stuck and become crooked and cumpled. OR, when it does sound like its printing, it doesn't print on the page--maybe the tip of the page, but not the whole page.
