Not sure what you mean, what are your recording your video to now? hard drive". You should be able to tell the camcorder where to store your video.

One other thing, some camcorders like this only use SD card for photos and now that i look at your camcorder, that seems to be the case, bottom line here is that you cannot recorded video on the SD card, just photos

Q1: Camera: How do I remove the 'Video" setting? Q2: Camera: How do I transfer photo from camera to computer? I know; not the brightest bulb. Thanks

You manipulate and configure all camera settings from the menu.
1. For the video settings, scroll through the menu and you'll find what you you are looking for there.
2. To transfer photo to your computer, various options are available.
If your camera came with a CD (driver), install that on your computer, than connect camera to computer, using the usb chord that came with the camera. Switch on camera and you should access the SD card from the My Computer menu.
Another way is to take out the SD card and plug it to the computer by an card reader or from most Note Book computers, a SD card slot built into the sides somewhere. to access the SD Card, you open My Computer and double click on the SD card icon, open the varoius folders in there to find you photos.

I am having a problem transfering pictures from my Kodak EasyShare C1013 camera to the computer.........any suggestions, it will transfer a few but not all the pictures. Thank You

The easiest and fastest way to transfer pictures/videos from your camera is by removing the SD card from your camera and insert it into a SD card reader. You can buy card readers at any computer stores at cheap prices. You insert the SD card into a card reader and then you insert the card reader into a free USB slot on your computer and then you can copy ALL your files then wherever you want.

Thanks for using Fixya!

D3100. USB cable will only transfer about half the quantiy of files to the PC and ignores any video files. Whereas when I transfer files through the SD card slot (not using the cable) all is well. Why?

My first impression is the transfer rate of the card through the camera firmware is not fast enough. You said SD card an SD card is a much slower rate then an SDHC which is much better for video. I use SD memory cards for still photography SDHC for any video. You can use SDHC for stills as well but it just my way of keeping things separated. Another thing is you should (must) format the memory cards each time you download, install them in another camera or a new SD SDHC card is installed . As a rule of thumb format the card in the camera it's going to be used in.

I recorded five videos with my camera and downloaded them to my computer, but they were blank 5-second videos and after downloading they were erased from my camera. Are the videos gone forever?

Once you have downloaded the programme asks you if you wish to remove the transferred material from the SD card. If you have answered yes to this question; then your transferred material from the SD card will be gone forever on the SD card.

Memory card error

Did you format the card before using it on your camera? Try using a memory card reader instead of the printer's SD card slot to transfer the video. Also check if the memory card is locked (check the position of the yellow slider at the right side of the card). If this does not work, then you will have to format the card. Unfortunately this will erase all the data in your card.

I want to copy video footage from the tape to the sd card.

Hi!
You cannot transfer the video from Mini-DV to SD card within your camera as your camcorder does not have this feature. If your purpose for finding this function is to transfer your footage to your computer, you may try using the firewire port in your camera to connect it to your pc.
If you need help with the firewire connection, feel free to post a follow up.
Hope this helps!
