Question about Dishwashers

Open Question

Hi , My spi 4465/06 Bosch dishwasher does not always fill in with water. The program starts , I can hear the water draining for a while , and then when it is time to fill with water , it stops. My appliance has an aquastop system connected directly with the water tap. Do you think that the aquastop system does not work properly ? if so is there a test I can perform on my own ? Also I would like to ask about a big thin plastic container that there is attached on the left side of the appliance with a lot of water tubes and tanks. At the lower end there is a tank that has two water marks ( maximum and minimum ) filled with a brown material with crystalline structure and a draining pipe with a bung . What is the purpose of this tank ? Is it possible that the problem of not filling with water comes from the malfunction of this tank? Thanks in advance

Certainly sounds like the float is stuck in the over filled position or possible a bad float switch. Could also be a bad water fill valve - if you can blow air through it when removed then you need to replace it. You can follow this link to troubleshoot your washer, but note that its not exactly for your model - http://www.thermador.com/replacementparts/main/pdfs/SHU-complete-troubleshooting-guide.pdf Good luck!

You need to reset the computer on the bottom. Had the same problem with mine. The Blinking led means the heating element is bad and will not operate.

SOURCE: My bosch dishwasher does not fill with water (although it drains)

most bosch have the inlet valve at the end of the fill pipe and it has an anti-flood device.
try turning off the water, take off the fill pipe then reconnect it and see if this works.
taking off the fill pipe resets the anti-flood device

Certainly *sounds* like the float is stuck in the over filled position
or possible a bad float switch, if the float is stuck in the up or full position, the d/w will not fill with water and the drain motor will often run all the time

Bosch shx33a starts, fills, then stops. Drains OK when forced to end cycle.

I know this may sound very silly but i had the same problem with mine and all i had to do was pull it out a bit as the drainage pipe at the back was only slightly sqashed against the cupboard but it does matter

When the dishwasher starts or when water starts to enter dishwasher there is a loud noise.

ther could be something stuck n your drain pump.
the way it works is first the unit drains, the it fills, then it start to wash. now if you hear this noise after it drains then it could be your water valve or after it fills when it starts to wash it could be your circulation pump. it depends on what cycle you hear the noise. let me know if this help by posting 4 thumbs up for this answer, thanks

Bosch SHU3036UC/U11 dishwasher does not stop filling with water

Hi,
It sounds as if the main program board has developed a fault - as it should come to a complete stop. The fact it kept the water valve open with the door open is a serious fault- so I would have it checked before using it again.

Most machines have a water-stop feature - so if it develops a leak - it will shut off the water. This clearly didn't happen.

Bosch dishwashers have a seperate pump for washing and another for draining. Try making it fill more than once. There is usually a timed fill and the float stops it before it overfills It also might prevent it from washing without enouth water Try defeating the door switch and play with the float during fill. There may be a sensor that won't let it go into wash. Be prepared to get a little wet if it should start up suddenly. A slightly safer way is to fill it with the sprayer from the sink. and see if it will go into wash.

Bosch SHU9915UC Dishwasher - wash cycle won't happen

hi there your dishwasher has gone into flood protection mode ie. water has leaked into the base and activated the float switch.

to try and locate the leak tip your d/w back to drain the water from the base then remove both side panels and start a program to see if you can see where the water is leaking from, being careful not to touch anything while the d/w is running as live parts are exposed

hope this is of some help
