also we need to know what kind of OS you are running. Some printers from HP don't have vista support.

What is the exact name of the printer. For example, if an Epson, the model number will be on the face of the unit. On an HP,the model number is also on the face of the unit. On all models, the model number will be on a label on the back of the unit clearly specified.

Well, you don't want a disc. The drivers are almost always old by the time they're burned to disc! Go download the appropriate ones from the printer maker's website. If your printer is older than that, pick an appropriate tool or default printer type for your OS. It's usually quite the blessing if you got a PostScript 4 printer to use utilities anyhow.

Try downloading the printer driver from the internet. Just go to the website of the printer's maker and from there you can search for the printer's model number. They have online support and downloads for products they have released in the market.

Can not connect printer to acer aspire one ZG5 Any advice would be great, Im trying to hook i up using a USB cable. Computer is not even recognizing that i have plugged in a usb cable

Well it all depends on what type of printer it is. Most printing companies don't give a disc with their printer. Mainly because they are supposed to install automatically when plugged in. If your computer asks for a disc, maybe it needs one to install the printer. try contacting the company who mad the printer. You never know if they forgot to put the disc in when they packed it. If that is the case, they probably will be more than happy to give you another disc.

Hope this helps!

I need a disc to install my Lexmark X5150 printer on my new computer. I have misplaced the old disc. Where can i get another one?

Lexmark does not distribute replacement install disk for all models.

Contact Lexmark here, to see if the disk for your printer is available.

If you do not have the disk you must download the software from Internet, follow instructions below,

Click here:Official Lexmark Drivers and Software

A web page will open, follow instructions, select model, select operative system etc., and click on download .
Chose to download the file in my documents when asked.
After downloading, find the file, double click on the file ,then if you get in troubles, follow the instructions below to reset and reinstall drivers:

  • Unplug printer USB.
  • Go to control panel >> installed printers in Windows and remove (delete ) any installed printer from printer list.
  • Download driver from website, or use the disk and run the install file.
  • Follow driver installation wizard.
  • Plug back printer when prompted from installation wizard.
Note:some printerdoes not work on Vista, if you do not find any driver download for Vista on your model page, that means your model is not Vista compatible.
