Question about Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

In most of the Amplifiers we have only Bass and Treble control (Bass works on 100 HZ and Treble works on 10KHz - approximately). In some Amplifiers we have Mid range control also. What is the frequency range it will control. Now a days Equalizer equipments (5 band, 7 band ...) were becoming less important. Is this statements were true.

The frequency of mid range control is about 1KHz. The bass and treble are usually enough to set the tone of sounds and music, and if the customer has high quality speakers connected to the amplifier it is almost unnecessary to modify any tone. In my opinion you are right that x-band equalizer became less important now.
Thank you.

"if the customer has high quality speakers connected to the amplifier it is almost unnecessary to modify any tone"

Does the above statement indicates the quality of the speakers or Cross work. I am having 2 way speaker One 8 inch Woofer (Philips) Product and another 2 inch tweeter (brand not known). There is no cross work implemented in the Speaker box. Is that is very mandatory.

You wrote "There is no cross work implemented in the Speaker box"
I'm not sure whether I understand well you mean, but if there is a speaker box with woofer and tweeter it is mandatory to be equipped a cross filter inside. The main reason is the high energy bass frequencies will destroy the tweeter which has usually less power and doesn't stand high amplitude mechanical movements.

What are the frequencies that the bass and treble controls on a Yamaha AX-396 amplifier control? I recorded alot of music direct from the amp to my pc with the bass and treble controls at max and need to...

The bass and treble controls (as well as volume) have no effect on the recorded output if you're using the traditional jacks a tape deck would use. Only PRE-OUTS get massaged by sound controls.

Even if you DID affect the recorded signals, WHY are you using such exaggerated settings? Or was it by mistake?

In theory, passing the modified output back through the same controls (set to Minimum this time) would undo most of the unwanted effect. Assuming their precise and mirror image for gain and loss.

Thanks for the answer - If we have 3 controls as Bass, Mid and Treble. If we keep those in 12 O Clock position, will the output level be equal. In using the Bass and Treble control only (if we have...

If all are in 12 o'clock position they are "flat" (nothing has been added or subtracted foam input signal) If you only have bass & treble, yes adjusting will affect "mids" but Mids change can go both ways dependent on increase or decrease of Bass and /or treble. By increasing bass you will pull some mids up also. By increasing treble you'll subtract some mids.

2 channel power amp
you will need additional equipment for this beast to work right.
1. you need a pre-amp, all audio connections go into the preamp which control sorces, volm, bass and treble.
2. out from the preamp into the power amp and out to your speakers

3. you can freak it if you have an 1/8" stereo to RCA stereo plug in this caee you can play your ipod, phone or mp3 player thru this amp using your input device (ipod, phone or mp3 player ) like a preamp to control volm, bass and treble.

Bass and treble controls

You should check the Direct button is pressed or not.
In Direct mode, it by passes the treble and bass circuitry so you will not hear any difference even if you turn it.
