Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR V3

1 Answer

Sir, My Motorola V3 has lost two bars of signal strength and loses signal altogether in areas where previously it had good signal strength. Works perfectly otherwise. Could it be a software issue and/or a driver issue. Can you help

Hi, it depends..It might be a network issue from your network service provider, due to power malfunctioning...And also could be from the cell phone it self..

You will need to ask a friend around if he or she is experiencing the same fluctuation of network signal to be very sue it's from the netwrok signal..

Yep... I would definitely say the internal antennae is going. You may want to have it checked out at either an AT&T store or a place that repairs Motorolas. Either way, it sounds like it's definitely an antennae problem.

Also the razors have alot of hardware and software bugs......the easiest way to solve this would be to do a master reset by going to the security menu and selecting the master reset option and following the prompt. Make sure you bake up any info you wanna keep like ringtones contacts and pics. Bluetooth to another phone would be the most sensible option. If for some strange reason reverting to factory performance settings does not work it is possible that the antenna has worked itself loose. In this case you must remove the back panel with a small screwdriver after removing the battery and its cover. At the bottom you will see a clear shell with a copper node, this is the antenna. Remove is by prying up near the tabs on the clear housing. Make sure reposition the antenna within the housing and make sure the node snaps securely back into the copper "fork" receptor. snap everything back together and your ready to go........if you really dont want to have to transfer your data and do a master reset, try the hardware fix first.....theres is no way i can know for certain without having the device in front of me but one of those two is almost guaranteed to do the trick.

Good Luck

How do I increase the signal strength of my Palm Centro?

The bars show relative signal strength.

If the Motorola is on the same provider, it is the Palm smartphone that is the fault. It may just be you got a less than sensitive one. You should probably contact Palm and see if there is anything they can do short of exchanging it, otherwise exchange it and keep exchanging them until you get one that works. In mass production- these things happen.

If the Motorola is with a different carrier, that may be the difference- they are line of sight devices and the provider you have for the Palm may not have an antenna in your vicinity pointed in the correct direction for you. Which means complaining to the carrier since you know the external antenna works, but the Palm does not.

My Motorola V3 mobile has suddenly lost two bars on the signal meter. It will now only receive service in very high signal areas where once it would have virtually no loss of signal. Can you help?

Make sure there is no moisture or dirt accumulation on the phone specially on the areas of the transmission antennae which is within the main board.
If you notice any such doubts then open and clean, dry using a hair dryer and reset. If this wont solve it is possible that there is weakness in the network detection section as possible error in the main board.

V9 works fine in town but over the first hill-5ks no reception.Have v3 which shows 5 bars where this shows none.Settings are on auto so if anything there I should get it.Tried all combination settings...

Hello,
Since the v9 works fine in town, then it simply means, it is not receiving any signal from the hill.
It has a weak signal strength and might receive little or no signal at all from the hill. So for hill tops, try using another phone, but for town use, you can use the v9.
The phone is not in any way faulty, it just is not built to receive signals from such heights. If you have the phone checked, you will not detect any fault simply because the phone is not faulty.
Take care and good luck

I have a Linksys router since 7/09 but keep losing

LOSING WIRELESS CONNECTION ?
Make sure the latest wireless card driver is installed in the computer.
Locate the wireless router higher and away from concrete and brick walls, foil insulated walls.
Locate the wireless router away from cordless phones and microwave ovens these can cause interference.
You could be getting interference from other wireless access points or wireless routers in your area. Check the wireless broadcast channels in your area, and select one that is unused or one that has the weakest signal strength.

I have a motorola razr v3 and i lose connection

From what I have been told from a similar experience is: When it is a phone that is exclusively made for one service provider they tend to pick up a better signal since they are programmed to just accept that signal. Motorola makes phones for many service providers so they don't program it to be exclusive to one provider. By doing this the phone doesn't pick up as good of a signal as it would if it were originally programmed to pick up just one provider. I know this is a bit confusing and kinda hard to make sense by typing it but I hope it atleast helped a little bit.

Hai
It seems your area is having less signal strength or its far from the mobile tower of your service provider.
Its a problem for lots of people around.
Try change the service provider or move to the nearest of the tower location.

Gprs disconnected automatically

if ur phone is able to connect, but disconnects after some
This can generally happen due to less signal strength or the page that u are trying to open is large in size and it xceeds the phone holding limit.
nothing to worry abt
Just make sure u have the latest firmware version in ur phone
If is still disconnects then try for another web browser
try to install it in ur phone and then see whether it works or not.
Check this link out for new firmware versions or softwares for this phone

Motorola RAZR V3 No signal (bars)

I had the same problem with my phone- i got a cheap generic battery to replace the old one (which wasn't holding a charge for a full day, at that) and then i lost all signal, basically. I tried what scm_pa said he did - charged my old battery up, with the phone off, till the charge was complete- turned the phone on, and voila, reception!
