Question about Refrigerators

1 Answer

Model HR6TFF460 (S) Contacted Hisense 21Jun10 as fridge would not cool and items in freezer were melting 24Jun10 a technician came and adjusted settings to minimum which did not make sense, if you want your fridge to get colder shouldn't you take it to the maximum? We had not had any other problems with fridge until last Friday when items in freezer began to melt again. I contacted Hisense on 15Mar11 and he advised me to set airflow at a 3rd and temperature dial to between 9 and 10 o'clock which I have done but still have melted Ice Cream. I believe this fridge is faulty as you cannot logically follow instructions to get the desired temperature. I have also done some research which has made me aware of similar problems experienced by other people with a Hisense fridge. Carl Matto

I turned off my Lemair fridge freezer to defrost it and when I turned it back on the fridge isn't cooling, but the freezer is fine. What do you think the problem is?

Hello Anne;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

Unplugging and plugging your unit back in should not have caused any component failure.

You only have one cooling source and that is your freezer. Your fresh food section is cooled by your freezer. You did not provide a model number, so I can not be specific. There is a air vent that goes from your freezer to your fresh food section. I suspect the vent is blocked with ice. Using a hair dryer, melt the ice in the vent until you can feel cold air coming out.

I bought hisense HR6TFF222 a month ago, and then week later there's a problem occurs on the fridge part (the lower section), it's not working very well, it's warm as in room temperature while...

Ive just had the same issue as the op with the same model fridge. The warranty center said to adjust the front level feet to elivate the front of the unit open both doors , defrost for 8-12 hours at least. This seems to be a problem in the colder months of the year. Once a full defrost has occurred level the feet again , and turn your fridge back on. Problem solved

Samsung fridge RS2630, icing up on freezer and fridge not cooling

Could be the defrost element. If it does not work and melt the ice off of the evaporator, icing will continue and serve as an insulator. Freezer and refrigerator temps will suffer.
If you unplug the unit and let it defrost for a day and plug back in it will work fine till it freezes up again.

Fridge is warm, freezer works.

Sounds like a defrost problem. Check to see if there is any frost buildup in the back wall of the freezer. If so, it is not defrosting as it should.
  • possible causes:
  1. bad defrost timer
  2. bad defrost heater (in freezer)
  3. bad thermo switch in freezer
If you don’t know what these are then unplug the machine and let the ice melt in the freezer overnight with the door open. Then try it the next day, if is cooling fine then you need to have a service person replace one of the above items.

Our Magic Chef fridge model # MCBR1000W does not seem to be keeping the fridge part cool enough, but still keeps the items in the freezer section frozen. The compressor is working, so not sure why this is...

yes the freezer door not closing properly will effect the refrigerator. also check in the freezer back wall and bottom for any frost buildup.
