yep both are out. I did change one bulb..a while back, maybe that would have something to do with it? The fuses and relays are fine. Strange.

Head light problems sometimes they will not shut off sometimes they (low beams) come on by themself high beam will not shut off

Are you sure there not running in daytime running light, when you think high beams are on

Also, there is sensor on the dash, usally on the speaker grate, that senses night and day. In the daytime your headlights will automatically come on when your car is in drive, and be on the high beam bulb, but dimmer than regular. At night, or in low light conditions, your lights will automatically switch from daytime lights to regular low beams. And yes, even when your switch on the dashis turned off, your lights work automatically.

To turn of the auto setting, just push the override button for your dome light, in and out 3 times, you should hear a chime, and your lights should shut off. This setting resets everytime you shut your vehicle off. Or to turn the auto setting back on, push the over ride button 3 more times.

2002 Dodge Caravan headlamps: one works on dim the other works on high beam but not together. Also only one daytime running lamp.

Your van has dual diligent headlamp bulbs, that means each headlight has one bulb that serves as high beam and low beam. What has most likely happened is on one side the low beam filament has burnt out, and on the other side the high beam filiment has burnt out. The daytime running lights are just the high beam filament running on reduced power, so if the high beam doesn't work on one side, that same side will have no daytime running light. Replace both headlamp bulbs with matching, good quality bulbs.

When I click the headlights to bright all of the lights go out. I have already replaced the switch in the stearing column. What is wrong.

Try disconnecting one of your headlights and click on the high beams. If it goes to high without any other problems, then the problem is in the other headlight high beam circuit. If all the lights go out, then the problem lies in the high beam circuit of the headlight you disconnected. You can verify this by reconnecting the first headlight and disconnecting the other one. There is most likely a short to ground in one of the high beam circuits.

If you have daytime running lights. That is, your headlights stay on automatically. You will need to check the daytime running light relays. There may be four of them to check. One of them grounds the high beams.

Where is the headlight relay on a ford festiva

OK, you're looking at a switch or a relay because although the drl's work, that's a different circuit that's added on after the regular headlights and high beams.

Also, check your fuses and wiring for a problem there.

I have a 2003 chevy cavalier. headlight issue

The blinking light is telling you that you have a headlight out, if you look the service light should be coming on when the light stops blinking.
Replace the head light and all should be fine.

2002 pathfinder, the left headlight bulb does not work when the

Sounds like you need a bulb, the daytime running lights send power to the high beam wire so they look like low beam lights are on but really they are high beam lights running on low voltage.

Daytime running lights work but go out when I turn headlights on. Ruled out headlight switch, bulbs, fuses, relay, ground, and DRL module. 98 silverado 1500 has no high beams. headlights work with parking...

If you have daytime running lights but when you turn on your regular headlight on they do not come on. Take the bottom of your steering column off (Two Small Screws) and look at the back of your turn/dimmer switch make sure that the light blue wire is connected. The wires will break off after years of raising and lowering your steering column.

Headlights alternate on and off left and right daytime/high beam

although the underhood relay panel is common, I'd check your headlamp bulbs first, these are cheaper than the fuse box. The daytime running lights work off the high beam circuit, thus, a blown highbeam bulb could be the culprit, the fusebox solution was more common on 2001 and up modles, although it's a definite possibility.

Headlights wont work

Well...lets start with the obvious. Check fuses and NEVER piggyback any stereo or security stuff into their fuses...you dont want the lights to shut down during a night drive!!
Check under the hood for a relay center...also has some fuses there as well.

The Daytime Running Lamps are a "straight through wiring configuration". Doubt it even goes through a headlight switch at all.
But the regular lights do.
Unless you've worked on the front of the car and forgot to plug the headlights back in, do this...
Turn the light switch on...looking at the instrument cluster , can you make the high-beam-indicator light come on?
As you rotate the headlight switch knob...does the instrument panel lights brighten or dim? You probably have a faulty headlight switch...auto stores have them...they simply plug in.
