Question about RIM BlackBerry Bold 9000 Smartphone

1 Answer

I recently bought a used "orange plan unlocked' balckberry 9700. I inserted a Vodafone SIM card and all data services and normaly phone services are working fine. However, even though I have set my data services as 'ON' during roaming, i m unable to get data services/internet while on roaming. This is in an area where my friend using blackberry on Vodafone was getting all its data services. Also, when I changed my SIM and inserted in my friends BB, the same was working fine. Need help to sort this out !! I have called Vodafone several times and they have reset my network settings but nothing seems to be working. Is it a handset issue and if Yes how to sort this out? I m based out of India

Hi,

sometimes, this happens when your phone is not properly and fully unlocked. That's why it is recommended to use validated unlocking codes that takes the guarantee to unlock your phone completely. If you ask me, I would recommend you Blackberry unlocking codes with IMEI to unlock your phone Bold 9000. This would enable you to carry your phone anywhere around the world. I know so because I also travel a lot for the purpose of work and I got my phones unlocked from THEM and then, I never faced any problem. Hope it would help you out.

Have a nice day :)

My phone is not reading my sim card, i have at&t service. with a data plan enabled. the signal bar says "SOS" and i can only make emergency calls. how can i fix this?

Hello,
If you have pulled the sim card out and verified by the diagram on the phone that you put it in properly, you may have a "burnt" sim chip, unless you have tried it in another phone with success. Burnt chips can happen for a number of reasons, some of which could be physical damage. You will need to go to a cell phone kiosk or store and purchase and activate a new one. They usually cost about $25. They would be able to tell you if something was wrong with the sim as well as they should have a sim reader on hand.

I forgot my password to unlock my blackberry bold 9700 on att, all my info is stored on it and i cant get to it. please help...

Maybe you can try to unlock your blackberry phone using blackberry bold 9700 unlock code for att network. It will make your blackberry unlocked and you can use any sim card on your phone so you can try to look at your data using another sim card.

I bought a blackberry bold 9700 of ebay recently, and ever since I have been unable to use my sim card to make calls/ texts as it displays the "call failed" message whenever I try calling. Do you...

You have to call the provider and just have them activate the IMEI number of your blackberry. Some times, it's automatically activated when you put in the SIM so you have to activate by customer service. When you put in the SIM are you getting any signal bars?

Well i bought a mob of my mate and i can put my sim card in it ? it keeps saying insert sim

Two options :
1) the phone is locked to certain network (eg lock to Vodafone ) and you have Orange SIM. - Need to be unlocked.
2) The phone is blacklisted (reported stolen/lost) - is useless.

Limited service

Sounds like your phone is restricted to Vodafone. Each network generally puts a lock in the software to stop other network sims being used in it. If you know your phone is unlocked (sim free) then it could be that you have not activated your Orange sim card? Check the instructions that came with your Orange sim as i am sure that you need to call Orange to activate it? Hope that helps?

I cannot unlock the PUK on my Samsung D900 on orange and vodafone. Heeelllp!!!!

The Puk number depends on the pin lock on the sim, the phone will still work with a different Sim card.

To unlock the Puk code you need to call the contact number for the service provider for your Sim. Alternatively you can unlock the PUK code at a local shop for a small fee, £10 or £20 in UK.

To unlock PUK, call the company that branded your Sim card.

If you are in UK, contact is below, otherwise use google to find contact number in your area.

Need samsung g600 unlocking code

I have just tried it with my new locked to orange g600 and it works fine on all networks.

1-Turn on the phone without sim card .
2-Pull off the battery cover and insert any non-accepted sim card (without turning off the handset)
3-Do full reset *2767*3855# , phone will reboot and goes to Menu .
4-Customize Sp-lock code *7465625*638*00000000*00000000#
5-Unlock your phone with new SP code #7465625*638*00000000#
6-Enjoy G600 unlocked

if it doesn't work after step 3.. try changing the 'non-accepted' sim card that ur putting in..
eg if you are locked to vodafone and you try this method and use an orange sim card and it doesn't work, try using a o2 sim or even virgin :)
its easy good luck

Cant access Orange Website from Samsung Omnia on Vodafone

The software installed by voda may be blocking orange.
Borrow a voda sim and set up your settings then try again.
