Engine Oil how many Litres & Automatic Transmission Oil how many litres....? Which Oil grades to be used...?

not knowing what it is you drive and the engine, most motors hold 4 to 5 litres of oil with a new oil filter. not knowing what your car is and the year the grade of oil can be 5w30 or 10w30, check with what the manufacture requires. you have the same problem with the transmission question. most hold 5 to 7 litres of trans oil, depending on the transmission, and the oil depends on what make of car you drive as GM vehicles use a different type than say a Ford of Chrysler and even different again with the imports.

Having trouble with gear selection especially changing down manual transmission

the clutch probably needs to be tightened up a bit that is if you can i dont know if it has a cable or is hydralic
if it has a cable then tighten it untill you have a little free play you can feel when you depress clutch pedal
if hydrolic then you may have air in system or master/slave cylinder may be going bad
also if you have recently had the gear oil changed they may have put in to thick an oil or the wrong type

you can jack on the oil pan if you use a block of wood in between to spread out the weight across the oil pan, likewise you can jack on the transmission pan with a block of wood in between.
