Question about Dell VID ATI RAGE128 ULTRA 32MB LOW PROFILE 9K100 Graphic Card

1 Answer

I have ATI RAGE128 video card on windows 7. My computer tells me the driver is up to date, but Direct3D is listed as "not available" in dxdiag. Supposedly my card is supposed to be able to run Direct3D, so I am wondering why it isn't. Also my computer repeatedly tells me that Direct x9 isn't running and so I cant play most video games. My card also is supposed to be able to run Direct x9 to the extent of my knowledge. What can i do to get my video card to run Direct3D and Direct x9?

go to device manager and click on display adapter then right click on ATI X1650 then run an update. It might be because the driver on your computer is not update with the driver that is not compatible with windows 7. Hope this would help. Thanks.

W7 does not recognise it and ati drivers does not work

This card doesn't support Win7 - it's only Dx8.0 compatible and Win7 needs a card that is at least Dx9.2 compatible.

I have issues with the second ATI FirePro V7800 card. I am running Window 7 pro - 64 bit. The motherboard is ASUS Sabertooth X58. Intel Corei7. Corsair 24 GB. Both two cards were working fine...

In order to further troubleshoot this issue, I would recommend the following:

Uninstall the ATI drivers from your computer.
Shut down the computer.
Remove the ATI card from your computer, and connect your monitor to the onboard video adapter.
Turn on the computer.
Ensure the ATI software was infact removed.
Shut down the computer
Reinstall the ATI video Card
Turn On the computer
Reinstall the ATI drivers ensuring to select the proper "CrossFire" configuration

My pc was not supported with my new o.s windows 7 the driver could not support wddm driver

The WDDM specification requires at least Direct3D 9-capable video card and the display driver must implement the device driver interfaces for the Direct3D 9Ex runtime in order to run legacy Direct3D applications

ATI radeon x600 128 mb video (Windows 7) driver

AMD's DirectX 9 ATI Radeon graphics accelerators are not officially supported under Windows 7. But you can install ATI Catalyst Windows Vista graphics driver under Windows 7. Some features may not be available under windows 7 but it would be worth a try.

Direct 3D Driver Installation Or Reinstallation?

The HAL error is because you haven't installed your grafikcard so windows is using a defaultdriver. You need to download the drivers for your videocard.

I can't say what card you have, for that you have to read the productpaper that came with the computer or open the pc and check the card.

Most graficcards have either nVidia or ATI chips. Intel is the brand on your CPU (and some other stuff) but they dont do their own graficcards.

My advice:
¤ Check the manual/documentary of the computer and look for the type of card you have for your grafics.
¤ If you can't find it in any documentation. Open the computercase and check the cards for any card with a logo from either nVidia or ATI.
¤ When you find the correct card. Check for the name of the card. (could be ATI HD5670, or anything like that)

When you have all info on what card you have. Go to either nVIdia or ATI driverpage and select your card and download/install the driver.

Restart computer hand it should be fine.

Btw. at http://free.grisoft.com you can download a free version of AVG Antivirus. So you don't need to worry about staying connected.

Cheers and hope this will help.

ATI mobility radeon 9200 on windows 7

I am using a HP Compaq Presario X1000 with a ATI Mobility Radeon 9200 display.

I have recently installed the Windows 7 RTM and tried various display drivers with no good results.

I am now using the driver from ftp.asus.com.tw/Pub/asus/nb/A4D/VGA_XP_2K_060102.zip

At first I unzipped the folder and run the setup program inside but it was not successful.

Then I go to the Device Manager, choose the display driver and choose "Update Driver"->"Browse my computer for driver software"->"Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"->"Have Disk"->"Browse"

click to the subfolder inside your extracted folder and find the folder named "2KXP_INF" and choose the inf files there and click "OK"

A list of device is displayed and I choose "ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9200"

the computer will install the driver and ask to restart the computer.

After restarting the computer my display was automatically set to 1680x1050, I found the following driver was installed:

Driver Provider: ATI Technologies Inc.
Driver Date: 1/19/2005
Driver Version: 6.14.10.6512
Digital Signer: Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility Publisher

I went on to test Suspend and Hibernate and they WORKED!

I have not tried this on Vista as I was running XP and Ubuntu in the last few years.
