MSN Messenger (now called "Windows Live Messenger") uses an email address as a use ID and a password. You may be able to retrieve those from any computer you used to access MSN Messenger.

If you type in the entire address, www.msn.com then press enter, you should go there. Once you are there, you can click on the little down arrow near the picture of a house on your tool bar, and change your home page to the current page, and you should be good to go.

I have the same problem and it just started today! If I try to go to www.msn.com I get redirected to http://dell.v14.msn.com/ which doesn't exist.

I am using IE8 and Vista Home Premium with SP2.

Fill out the service request form on the website, then submit your querry. MSN Hotmail Support will be able to help you with your account issue. Also, if you are an MSN subscriber, they can give you the MSN Technical Support Hotline number.

Make sure your internet browser settings are set to default and that you can actually get to other sites besides msn.com before deciding this is a msn web site issue on your firewall. Also, make sure if you have a software firewall like Norton that you allow and have not inadvertantly blocked msn.com. Add msn.com in your browser settings to the 'safe sites' list in browser settings.

Problem solved through MSN Live Tech support.
