ERROR 8002F1F9 DURING AN UPDATE THROUGHT PS3 **** (NOT INTERNET) EVERY TIME I OPEN THE CONCOLE IT TRYIES TO UPDATE AND STOPS AT 55%

From my knowledge on ERROR 8002F1F9, you need to try the system recovery menu and if that doesn't work you need to contact Playstation customer support: 800-345-7669.

SAFE MODE:

1. Place you finger on the on/off sensor leave it their until you console turns off then take you finger off the sensor.

2. Place your finger back on the on/off sensor leave it their until you hear 2 consecutive beeps then take your finger off.

3. Once the safe mode screen comes on select the option PS3 SYSTEM RESTORE.

NOTE: A PS3 system restore will delete all data except the OS. I recommend backing up your console onto a USB flash drive if possible.

I'm updating my playstation but it keeps failing and it said to cantact tech support. The error code is 8002F1F9

I think your problem is due to a Firmware glitch. Try reformatting your hard disk under 'System Setting'. After that, download the latest Firmware update to a USB flash drive, and update it via Storage Device under 'Update'. This should get your Ps3 up and running properly in no time I hope this helps! - Omn1cide

Error code 8002F1F9 is a pain!!! I am stuck in the system update loop. I have.. 1-hooked up to the internet wireless and wired. 2-put a jumpdrive w/newest update on it into the usb 3-held the power button...

try to format it first ok, choose the custom format->FULL system format it will take 2-3 hours so dont panic, just format it, now if it doesn't work just go to the nearest PC store and buy ur self a brand new laptop hard disk with any size u want and replace it with the old one, but format FIRST okkkkk

When I try to install this update, after the progress bar reached 60% it would display the error code 8002f1f9

i dont know what that error code is but is there a blu ray drive connected, I know that the the last 30-40% of an update is the reflashing of the blu ray logic board. thats why updates always go slow then real fast at the last second and if the logic board is dead or not there it gives an error.
