Dear Friend
Many times this error is caused when the computer is attempting to boot from a non-bootable floppy disk or CD-ROM. First verify that no floppy diskette or CD is in the computer, unless you are attempting to boot from a diskette.
If not then it seems that your windows boot file got corrupted. all you have to do is try using your notebooks recovery CD if you dont have a recovery CD then you have to use the windows installer CD
1 Insert the Windows XP bootable CD into the computer.
2 When prompted to press any key to boot from the CD, press any key.
3 Once in the Windows XP setup menu press the "R" key to repair Windows.
4 Log into your Windows installation by pressing the "1" key and pressing enter.
5 You will then be prompted for your administrator password, enter that password.
6 Copy the below two files to the root directory of the primary hard disk. In the below example we are copying these files from the CD-ROM drive letter, which in this case is "e." This letter may be different on your computer.
copy e:\i386\ntldr c:\
copy e:\i386\ntdetect.com c:\

7 Once both of these files have been successfully copied, remove the CD from the computer and reboot.

Thanks

BOOTMGR usually means that is an issue with your OS. Were some files delete?

My rebooted my advent 4211-b netbook to factory setting by the tech guys on the netbook but now my netbook wont start up, it says the window boot configuration data file does not contain a valid os entry

Welcome to Fixya

Error means the boot files are missing or damaged. Try to restore the computer using the disk that came with it instead of using the recovery console.

Thank you for using Fixya!

I turn on my labtop and it says a system file is missing or corupt and i dont have a disk drive to reinstall windows what do i do

First try booting the pc via Safe Mode..

When you first turn on the netbook.. when the Acer Splash Screen comes up.. press F8 repeatedly (a few times at least)..

You should get a option to start windows in Safe Mode.. chose this.

You may be able to do a system restore and go from there..

If you can boot the netbook using safe mode.. and have access to a network that has a pc with a disc drive.. you can setup that drive to be Shared on the network(My Computer/Clik on the CD/DVD drive/Clik on Properties..sharing..etc).. and reinstall that way over the network via that drive.

Hopefully it won't come to this. and you will be able to correct the system file in safe mode or do the system restore.

Best of luck!

Sansa m250 2GB can not see any files or play

I had a similar problem.
This is how I fixed Sansa m250 2GB
I have Windows XP, so if you have a different version of Windows you might have to do something else.
Connect the player to your computer.
From My Computer open the drive that says SANSA M250
If there is no folder called "audio" make a folder named that. (this is where your future mp3 files will be stored).
My audio folder was missing, so I had to do this.
Now go back to My Computer right click on the SANSA M250 drive scroll down the menu and open the folder that says "Open As Portable Media Device".
Now click on the icon that says "SANSA M250"
Now open the folder that says "FOUND.000".
If you are having the same problem that I did all your old mp3 files will show up with a file extension .CHK instead of mp3 and the names will be numbers. You can either erase all these & reload all your songs into the "audio" folder I mentioned previously or you can rename each file extension to a .MP3 instead of .CHK. (after you change them to .MP3 they will load on your mp3 player. But, remember if you do choose to rename them instead of erasing and reloading, when you want to permanently delete them you will have to access the "FOUND.000" folder again to do that.
