Goes to voice main on first try on second try rings

According to iPhone faq.org: " How can set the number of rings on my iPhone before voicemail picks up?
You can set the iPhone to wait longer or shorter than the default 20 seconds before it goes to voicemail when receiving an incoming call. This will result in a different number of rings before the voice messaging system picks up the line and plays your outgoing message. To change the amount of time the iPhone will ring follow these steps:
1. Open the phone app and dial *#61# on the Keypad. Press the Call button.
2. Locate this text on the screen: "Setting Interrogation Succeeded, Voice Call Forwarding, When Unanswered, Forwards to +" and record the 11-digit number after the + symbol.
3. Touch the Dismiss button. Now enter this code on the Keypad: *61*+ followed by the 11-digit Forwards to number recorded in step 2, followed by *11 and *ringtime#. Ringtime is the number of seconds you want your iPhone to ring before voicemail picks up. Your finished code should look something like this:
*61*+18555513466*11*30#
In the example above the ring time is set to 30 seconds. Press the Call button.
4. You should receive the message: Setting Activation Succeeded. Press Dismiss and next time you receive a call it will ring for the new amount of time before going to voicemail."
According to Apple Tool Box.com: "having this problem, please try the followings:
  • Make sure that iPhone's Ring/Silent switch is OFF meaning ringer is ON. A bell will flash briefly on the screen when you turn on the ringer.
  • Make sure that the Do Not Disturb setting is not silencing calls (Settings > Do Not Disturb).
  • Make sure that Airplane Mode is OFF (Settings > Airplane Mode).
  • Make sure that your carrier software is up to date (Settings > General > About)."

Mobile Phone Tips & Tricks: Manners and etiquettes of using mobile phones

The mobilephone industry wants all people to enjoy the benefits of mobile telecommunications but at the same time it expects them to use their mobiles in a responsible way. <br /> <b>1. When in doubt, always go out of the room/hall.</b> When possible go outside or to another room to make your call if your call might disturb others. You can also use features such as text messaging answering services, call diversion and vibration alert, etc to receive important calls without disturbing others. <br /> <br /> <b>2. If you can't turn it off, keep it on silent mode</b> If you need to keep your phone on for important calls, then turn it to silent or vibration mode. It's the ringtone of a mobile phone in inappropriate places which annoys and irritates people the most. <br /> <br /> <b>3. When required turn your phone off and also check if it's off.</b> There are some places where people should never talk on a mobile phone or send text messages and where the ringing of a cell phone is considered highly unacceptable. In these cases, turn your phone off and remember to check it's off before you enter the venue. <br /> <br /> <b>4. Keep your conversations private</b> People's sense of personal space varies in each situation. Making a call in a busy place may be okay, but talking loudly in a confined space like a lift or on a train tends to disturb people. <br /> <br /> <b>5. Speak softly</b> Always speak softly so as not to disturb others. People can hear you even if you speak in soft voice.

Program "Do not disturb" on business phone

It's pretty straightforward. You pick a spare button, dial FEAT 00 press the blank button (with a light) and press FEAT 01. There are considerations that I'll reproduce here.

Do Not Disturb (F01) 8
Use this feature to be able to press a programmed button to prevent incoming calls for the
extension from ringing (lights still flash). When Do Not Disturb is on, outside callers hear ringing
while inside callers hear a busy signal. You should use Do Not Disturb only if someone answers
outside calls for your extension when you do not answer them.
Considerations 8
Do Not Disturb is available only on system telephones.
Do Not Disturb requires a button with lights. When the Do Not Disturb feature is on, the light
is also on, indicating that the telephone will not ring.
■ Use Do Not Disturb when you do not want the auto attendant or the voice messaging system
to transfer calls to you.
■ Use Do Not Disturb if you are assigned to a Hunt Group and you leave your desk, so calls to
the Hunt Group will skip your extension and ring immediately at the next available extension
in the group.
■ To avoid missing calls when Do Not Disturb is not needed, turn it off.
■ If Do Not Disturb is active at a doorphone alert extension, the person at the doorphone hears
signaling, but the alert extension is not signaled.
■ Unanswered calls that are transferred from an extension with Do Not Disturb active ring at
that extension if they transfer return.
■ Extensions with Do Not Disturb activated do not receive Caller ID information, unless the call
is answered.
■ Users with Automatic VMS Cover Assigned or with VMS Cover turned on can activate Do
Not Disturb
to Send All Calls immediately to their voice mailbox.
■ Users with Call Coverage turned on can activate Do Not Disturb to Send All Calls
immediately to the covering extension.
■ You cannot use Call Screening (F25) when Do Not Disturb is turned on.
