Turn off the laptop. Then, try to remove the battery and the power cables to it & then press and hold the power button laptop shuts off - ryanpajaro20_3.jpg for 8 secs. Reinsert the cables and battery to it. Turn it on and check if the monitor will quickly shuts off. If it is shuts off or if it does turn on and then off afterwards, the problem would be either power supply or the motherboard itself ryanpajaro20_5.jpg
You might try to use only the battery (if it is not empty) to check whether the laptop will stay on for as long as the battery holds through.. Otherwise, consult your PC provider to repair your laptop..

Is the Laptop Overheating? During intense game play your Laptop will Overheat if it's not getting sufficient air flow. Try cleaning the Fan, vents, heatsing with Compressed Air, Improve air flow through the Laptop, a Laptop Cooler is a option. Laptop gets warm near touchpad , shuts down

Sounds like it is overheating and then shutting down. Is the laptop on a hard surface or a lap or blanket? You need to have air circulation.

Shut down computer but some lights stay on

Your are not "shutting down" the laptop. It is going into "Stand-by" mode.

#1:
When you want to shut down,
select [Start]
then select "Shut down" and not "Stand-by"

The power button will also work.
#2:
When you want to shut down,
Press the power button and nothing else.
The laptop will log you OFF and "shut down"

Help!

You might have connected to interent and your windows updates are automatically downloaded. You need to install those updates. Actually it did not shut but power goes off may be it was on stand by mode. Now shut down (press Alt+F4) your laptop from menu. Choose Install Updates and Shut Down from the drop down list.
Now it will install updates and after completion it will automatically shut down your laptop. Hope it works
