I Lost FM on my Tivoli Model One. While FM was playing I touched the radio and gave it a static shock (very dry climate) and lost the FM. AM and Aux are fine.

It will need to go to a service centre for repair. Most probably the static electric jolt will have taken out either the FM RF amplifier of the FM mixer, meaning it needs component level repairs :o(

You should check all the connections especially the radio for dust, rust, or any dirt. If that doesn't work then you need some kind of radio adapter to improve you signal.

The FM has no forward modulation. You're radio will key up but you can't transmit on it. All cb radio are like that after conversion.

Loss of Signal

Please make sure the antenna is tuned to proper SWR.

Also double check the power wire connections.

Let me know if you have no clue about tuning the SWR.

Sounds like you either left something loose or lost a piece of shielding. Was there a filter on the antenna that you forgot to put back on?

Static

Hi,

CB radios use a frequency range and technology that is prone to noises both atmospheric, and man made. The height and gain of your new base antenna may produce more static than you may have noticed before. The question is 1) is the antenna close to any power lines to your home, 2) do you notice any increase or decrease of received signals compared to your mobile, 3) is the static steady or does it come and go.

Am radio not working

THIS SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE A RADIO PROBLEM. IT MAY BE WORTH YOUR TIME TO HAVE A DODGE DEALER CHECK THE RADIO TO SEE IF INDEED THE RADIO IS BAD, BUT THEN YOU HAVE THE OPTION TO REPLACE THE OEM RADIO WITH A NICE AFTERMARKET RADIO. THESE HAVE COME DOWN IN PRICE DRASTICALLY AND ARE PROBABLY CHEAPER THAN REPLACING THE OEM RADIO. WITH NO SIGNAL OR STATIC ON THE AM BAND SURE SOUNDS LIKE THE AM BAND IS DEAD. Radio set up on samsung j700

FM radio works the same way that AM radio works. The difference is in how the carrier wave is modulated, or altered. With AM radio, the amplitude, or overall strength, of the signal is varied to incorporate the sound information. With FM, the frequency (the number of times each second that the current changes direction) of the carrier signal is varied. FM signals have a great advantage over AM signals. Both signals are susceptible to slight changes in amplitude. With an AM broadcast, these changes result in static. With an FM broadcast, slight changes in amplitude don't matter -- since the audio signal is conveyed through changes in frequency, the FM receiver can just ignore changes in amplitude. The result: no static at all.

Good luck!
