After the layers are merged and the file saved, you can not edit them as individual layers anymore. If you haven't saved yet you might be able to undo until you performed the merge layers action

How to merge several photos in one

Do you mean make a panorama photo ? Many cameras have a panorama function that does this automatically - it is a special setting. To do it manually use any photo-editing software like Photoshop or free GIMP or free online such as SUMOPAINT. Put each photo on a separate layer and move them around and erase overlapping portions. When all of them appear nicely aligned flatten the layers. If his makes no sense to you do not worry there is automatic photo stitching software, also free - this page tells about it:
http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/panoramic-software.htm

However if you simply want to make a photo collage you can also do it manually, or use picasa software's create/ Picture Collage function. This arranges selected photos randomly as if on a table-top in one photo.

I HAVE WINDOWS 7 NOT WINDOWS VISTA. WHEN I CHANGED IT WILL NO LONGER SAVE TO A PDF

I suggest you use something like PrimoPDF. It is free and you can print any document, image, etc to PDF. Or you can use PDF Xchange to edit, split, merge pdf documents and it is a cheap software.

Rate if this solution was helpful.

Thanks

If you want to edit text, use the type tool to highlight the text. This makes the text active unless you have Rasterized the text. Once Rasterized it is no longer editable.
To delete photos or text on layers, you can drag the layer to the small trash can at the bottom of the layers pallet.

How to join and merge two photographs using adobe photoshop 7.0

In photoshop 7.0, open two files that need merging. Create new file with required resolution, size, etc. Then drag the layer of first photo, then second photo to the newly created PSD file. You can edit each layer on the new file by croping or cutting.

Photo shop elements 6

Open both images, select with pen, marquee or lasso tool a section in 1st image.
Copy section- click on 2nd image - paste.
Open Window Layers. You see your selection on a layer. 2nd image is on Backgroundlayer, which does not allow any changes. Select BG layer, click on little arrow on top of layer window and duplicate BG layer, delete BG layer, or click on the eye symbol. Now you have 2 images left on 2 layers, which you can work with. To merge click on arrow of layer window - select merge.
Tip: after select 1st image click on Select - Feather, than copy and paste in 2nd image.
You can also drag selection from 1st to 2nd image.

Photoshop

okayu vidhita, When u work on photoshop, u work with multiple layers, when u wanna merge 2 objects together to make them have an special effect, you have to select one object out of the two in the layer panel, and while holding ctrl, select the second object, and a third object and a 4th object, (while holding ctrl of course) and this will highlight all the layers that u ve chosen, then right click right there on one of the layers u ve selected and select the option (merge layers ) or link the layers and these will make all ur objects as 1 object.
