Question about Toshiba Tecra 8100 Notebook
Yeah... that's common. The Toshiba DVD drives uses a different drive select than other people's DVD drives. Look to the manufacturer of your DVD/CDRW drive and look to see if there's a firmware update that will allow you to set the drive select differently. If not, then you'll be stuck with the IDE1 thing forever.
Now... here's the fun part: some of these drives will give you an IDE error, they'll never boot, but some of them will work perfectly when you get into Windows.
