How to Customize your Brew Volume
If you decide that you want to alter the size of the espresso shot, you can easily create a new "espresso" and "lungo" setting for yourself in a few simple steps:

  1. Insert Capsule in machine to brew espresso.
  2. Press and HOLD the desired brew button that you want to alter the brew volume on
  3. When the Espresso shot gets to the desired level, release the button.
  4. You now have set a custom brew size that will allow you to get that brew volume each and every time you brew.

How to Reset your Nespresso
Okay, so you don't like that brew volume setting anymore, or you accidentally set it to some insane level, it's easy to return the Citiz to the factory settings. Again a few easy steps:
  1. Switch the unit off
  2. Press and hold the "Lungo" brew button
  3. Switch the machine on
  4. Release the Lungo button

Won't dispense all the coffee from the disc. Have to push button at least two times. Descaled Help

The discs tell the machine how much water to dispense through the disc. Some discs dispense a small amount for an Espresso, others give a larger drink. Normal cups will not fill, you need smaller coffee cups for most Tassimo drinks.
Check the packet to see how much it dispenses and check with a measurement jug to see if it is working properly, you may be surprised to find it is working fine.

How to reset keurig b40

1. There is some confusion over models. I've seen "B40" models and instructions with only one size cup button, both labeled B40. I own one stamped "B40" on the bottom, and it has two buttons -- small and large. FWIW, small = 8 oz, large = 10 oz.

2. These reset instructions from another site seemed to do something
What to Do If Your Keurig Won Brew Cup Barista

So.. this is what I did that worked for mine: 1) Hold down Auto-Off and LARGE cup at same time. (all lights should hold steady ON) 2) press SMALL cup while still holding Auto-Off and LARGE cup 3) Release all three, press LARGE cup again.. all lights should go off. 4) Unplug for about 5 - 10 second, plug back in. SHOULD WORK!

3. On *_my_* B40, remove the K-cup, close the door, fill the reservoir. Unplug and replug the B40. All lights should be off.

Pressing "Auto Off" and "Large Cup" together will turn on 3 lights (Heating, Add Water, Power) for about 3 seconds. Doesn't matter how long the buttons are pressed or what order they are released.

I tried lots of add-on combinations: e.g. press button x, press x multiple times, press x while lights are still on, press x after lights are off, press buttons x and y together, press x then y, press x and/or y while still holding Auto and Large, release Auto but not Large and press x, etc.

Nothing gave any confirmation that a reset was accepted. All lights always turned off after 3 seconds. Maybe Reset is only 1 step, i.e. Auto+Large together?

My nespresso started suddenly runnnig too short. Please help. Joe

Next time you fill your cup, try holding the button in until it gets to the desired level then let it go.

That should reset the fill amount setting so that from then on it fills to that amount when you just push the button once like you normally do.

Good luck.

When we push the option Large Coffee instead of giving us a large cup it gives us a small cup and strong. We push the small coffee and also get a small cup. What can we do to fix it?

HI
It needs to be reprogramed. If some one holds a coffee button down to long it will reset itself back to small coffee.
Push and hold the button for the coffee you want, but hold it all the way through the process. Don't release the button until you get the amount of coffee you want for that button, then release the button. That should get you the same amount next time. You can do this for each coffee button.
If that doesn't fix it, then you might need a new flow meter.

Machine stopped working and both buttons are flickering, if I push the left (small coffee) button then the machine starts to pump cold water. If I push the left (large coffee) button nothing happens. Not...

May be busted, but before you take it to the shop try these few things. 1. Unplug machine for 30 seconds 2. Then plug back in, (lights should still be blinking) Take silver handle that you lift when you put in coffee pods and gently push back handle as far as you can for 3 seconds. This should reset your machine, back to factory settings. To then reset coffee cup settings to your personal taste by: 3. You can adjust the fill of coffee by holding the large coffee cup down for as long as you want to fill it. Try holding the button down for 20secs., next cup of coffee should automatically fill for 20 seconds. Do the same for small coffee side. Hope this works,it has for me; just not sure because of the cold water pumping out issue. good luck

Tassimo red light stays on ran descaling disc twice

After many months, I solved the problem of the red light staying on the Tassimo Coffee Maker. Use these easy steps.
1. Fill a 2 cup measuring cup with hot water.
2. Mix in descaler.
3. Pour in the empty water tank.
4. Put the yellow cleaning disk in the chamber and close chamber. Put the two cup measuring cup under the spout.
5. Push and hold the brew button for about 3 seconds (until the red and green light flash.
6. Now don't touch the machine. It will do it's thing for about 20 minutes. (Don't be impatient and start to push buttons, just leave it)
7. When it finishes it's cycle. The red light will turn off. Then clean the water tank and put fresh water and run clean water through the brewing cycle 4 times. Your machine is now ready for use.

I had the same problem. First, unplug machine for two (2) minutes. Then re-plug and as on/off switch is flashing- press and hold large cup button for 3-5 seconds (no light should show/flash from this button while you hold it down. The on/off will continue to cycle through its normal startup, after it completes you should be reset to factory settings and good to go. Good luck to you, this maneuver saved me.

When I push the "espresso" button of my nespresson essenza automatic, it just keeps running until the espresso cup overflows. It has never done that before.

Did you shut your machine off? you just have to reset it. That has happened when I descaled machine. You need to hold the button for as long as you want the cup to fill. ex. hold the button down and count 15 secs. Next time you use the machine it should fill for the 15 secs. (use a used pod so you don't waste the good coffee). That has always worked for me. I had to set both sides (small cup and large cup, you my have to also). hope this helps!

My nespresso does not make a full cup any more

Another good solution, though the previous one was good, is that you can factory reset the cup sizes. All you have to do is switch the machine off, and then press and hold the large cup button. After about 10 seconds, keeping your finger on the large cup button, switch the machine on -- then let go of the large cup button after about two more seconds.

Wont brew a full pot

I had the exact same problem with my machine making 1 cup at a time.

Here is the solution:

1. make solution of 1 part vinegar & 2 parts water.

2. pour solution into resivoir and set for 2 hours

3. run solution through machine (yes, you will have to stand there and keep pushing the buttons).

4. take same solution (now very hot) and run it through machine 5 or 6 times

5. make fresh solution and continue process until machine runs full cycle.
