Try taking out your hard drive and reintalling it. See if this helps. Also take your ram out and put it back in. Good luck.

The "enable horizontal scrolling box should be there too.

Gateway NV52 won't wake up.

Is it clean? fan and vents? Unplug, remove battery, leave battery out, plug in, reboot. If that fails, Re Boot and try a System restore/recovery to a date before this issue. OR, Boot to Safe Mode, use this procedure to select Normal Boot: http://www.netsquirrel.com/msconfig/msconfig_win7.html When/If you get a Normal Boot, Open Control Panel, Power Options, select High Performance, select Change Plan settings, set plugged in both to Never, set advanced setting to your preference. Use this procedure: http://windows.about.com/od/customizingwindows/ss/set_power_options_all.htm Always shut down and unplug your laptop when not in use, remove battery when you use on AC, your Laptop/components will last longer, and will not be subject to possible power surge damage and the battery, IF it malfunctions will not cause a fire hazard.

Clock resetting and power button malfunctioning on my Gateway NV53A laptop.

Replace the CMOS battery. In the Control Panel, Power Options, set to High Performance, open Advanced power settings, set Sleep and Hibernate to Never, Adjust other settings to your preference. Set Screen Saver Time. Always turn off the computer and unplug when not in use, it will prolong life and a reboot every day will reset the computer. I would say you have a issue with the outlet connections/plug. If you have a multimeter you can verify.

Packard Bell Motherboard Replacement

Geez I hope not. I abhor Peckerd-Bell.

(Why?
Want support?
Ya gotta pay $$$$$$$. A computer manufacturer I like to stay so far away from, that when people say the name, I say,"Who?")

Gateway then Acer. When did peckerd-bell get involved?

GATEWAYnv52 POWERS UP NO VIDIO 2LIGHTS BLUE ON ALL THE TIME RIGHT ONE IS BATTERY CHARGING THE OTHER TELLS ME THE COMPUTER IS ON BUT I THINK IT SHOULD BE BLINKING SHOWING AS READING DATEA RIGHT

Try connecting an external monitor to your laptop and see if there is a video coming up. If there is, the monitor is broken and you will have to get it fixed. However if there isn't, try going into your BIOS by hitting F2 as soon as you turn on your laptop and repair your Operating System.

How do I keep my Gateway NV5214u from beeping when the power cord is disconnected

Your computer beeps when it is running on a low battery. (So, when the power cord is plugged in, it doesn't beep). It is possible that your battery no longer can hold a charge and you need to buy a new one, if you can find one.
