Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: my singer 4166 sewing machine won't pick up the bo...

I had the same problem straight out of the box. I decided to buy a new machine and came across the 4166. It had more than enough functions and seemed to run smoothly. I too have problems with the bobbin not threading so I took it back into the store thinking I was doing something wrong. The saleswoman had the same problem. I was going to exchange it for another but before leaving I wanted to check to see if it worked. Again, same problem so I left without a machine. I spoke to the owner only to be told that 30% Singer machines are lemons and have to be returned for servicing because they don't work from the start. This is a waste of money and time.
The only suggestion I can offer is to either forget about the machine or take it into be serviced.

SOURCE: I slid the lever to

Rotating the hand wheel will not move them. The lever should slide back from whence it came. Make sure you don't have the needle down among the dogs before you try to move it. The presser foot should also be raised first.
Perhaps something has fallen down there. Try sucking with hoover as perhaps a broken needle has slipped down. Or a tiny bit of machine oil might help move them.

SOURCE: My Singer Sewing machine (model

It's stuck inside. Open it up so you can see inside the bottom, look for the feed dog mechanism and you'll find where length of step is varied, this is where the reversing takes place too. Tapping gently and oiling will free it up.

SOURCE: I have a Janome Memory

You have ended up in the Vacuum cleaner section, but if you look in your User Manual on page 71 you will be able to read about how this is achieved...feeddog switch, then rotate hanwheel one full revolution to re-engage.

My machine flashes C4 when i want to sew

Clean the bobbin case area thoroughly, and probably the feed dogs, too. Start all seams by holding the top and bobbin thread ends together behind the presser foot for the first few stitches. If you have lost your manual, pick up a new one, free, at http://www.singerco.com

Machine is stuck on reverse mode

Try this,Go back to straight stitch, zero your stitch length, zero your stitch width, turn your hand wheel towards you for few rounds then select a stitch length and see if the reverse lever will work normal after this. Otherwise get it fix by a local technician.

Feed dogs don't work!

Many of the older machines had a long geared belt that operated the feed dogs. Turn the machine upside down, take the bottom off and check. If there's a belt there, check it for tautness and for useability. If there is a belt, take it off and try the sewing machine repair shops in Kazoo on S. Westnedge for a replacement.

Cannot raise feed dog

not sure why this is in Vacuums... but if you know where the switch is... jiggle the handwheel while moving the switch. This will help the dogs return to feed setting.
