Assuming you have tried adjusting the regulator already, then the pressure spring in your regulator is probably broken and you need a new regulator. The output pressure is controlled by being equal to the pressure on the spring. If the spring is broken, then no pressure. This often happens if the regulator has been cranked down too hard.

My truck builds air 4 or 5 times in a row on its own. Then all the sudden it stops and wont. If i put it in nutral and rev it up real high it will start building air again. What is causing this?

Sounds like your Unloader is hanging up. What type truck and year?
1 check air line to govenor make sure no leak.
2 Check dis-charge hose or pipe.
3 Check to make sure air drier pop off valve is not leaking
4 The unloader valve in compressors become gummed up and o-ring break and cause valve to hang up in open position which prevents it from building air.
Good luck

Compressor runs and sounds ok, but it only manages to show 20 lbs. It will not build air pressure and continues to run.

check air tank drain valve located on bottom of tank, if it is not leaking try adjusting air pres regulator (large black knob close to air hose connection.) the knob when turned in will increase the tank air pressure, if knob wont turn check that lock ring on bottom of knob to make sure it is disengaged. also check for air leaks in all lines and connections

Kenmore 70 series ,overflows and wont go into wash cycle Have taken the level switch out and when i blow into the switch it does make the machine wash so i guess my question is: how does the machine...

While the unit fills the air pressure is pushed up the hose to activate the pressure switch. Make sure there are no pin holes in the hose, check that hose is secure to air dome on tub. If the hose has no holes or air leaks the issue would have tobe the pressure switch.

My truck wont blow out any hot air, just cold. i put a new radiator and thermostat in it. it is full of anti freeze

Try removing the Heater hoses from heater tubes(be careful not to break heater tubes off) then back flush heater core with garden hose(Don't use a lot of pressure). Jell from antifreeze builds up in the heater core and blocks the coolant flow. If it is easier, remove the heater hoses from the engine, that is safer. Back flush the heater from the hoses. To Back Flush (The hose coming from the water pump is the inlet)(Hose going to Manifold is outlet) Back flush outlet hose! To much water pressure may cause damage to heater core!!!! Do Not ues AIR!!!!

My compressor builds to 125 psi then shuts off like it should then when the pressure is released the compressor wont start back up. Sometimes it will attempt to start and it sounds like the motor is...

When a compressor reaches set pressure, there should be a release of air from discharge hose thru the unloader. This release of air unloads the compressor head pressure. The unloader is usually located within the pressure switch. Easy to check. Follow discharge hose from compressor head to tank. There should be a brass/steel checkvalve at the tank. The checkvalve allows air to enter tank, however not allow air to be released back into discharge hose. If this valve is leaking, air will be released from the unloader constantly. Follow 1/4" tubing from checkvalve to unloader and listen for leaks. Repair as needed. If air is not leaking from checkvalve then check unloader mechanism with-in pressure switch. 1990 eclipse gs turbo starts & idles wont go past 2500rpms

you have a boostleak, i build gsx's my roommate owns 4g63 power, give me your email er cell and i will send you a boost leak detector you hook up to the turbo inlet and shoot pressurized air into it and if you have a boostleak it will leak out of the engine somewhere that is your leak you replace the seal or hose and blauw the car is fixed, hook me up with blue feedback since im going this far out of my way. the reason you cant get past 2500rpm is because unmeetered air is being let in post maf sensor and the ecu is trying to richen up the engine which is causing the black smoke and probably a strong smell of fuel. my current dsm is the 9th one ive owned =) they break alot lol easy fix though.
