I would like to be of some help to you, but I could use a little more information.

This is your second Panasonic home theater receiver in two weeks with the same error.

I assume that you got the first one and had this error and you sent it back because of the error. You got the second one and are getting the same error.

If you could tell me the model number of the receiver it would help. You can find it on the back of the receiver on a sticker along with the serial number. I don't need the serial number, just the model number. Not all errors are the same for every model.

When this error happens, have you loaded a disc into it, or do you just turn it on and this is what happens?

It is unlikely that both of the receivers are defective in the exact same manner, so it may be something to do with how you have set it up.

One thing to check is to see if it has any transport locks on it. Some DVD players have something like a red plastic locking key inserted into the mech to keep it from getting out of alignment while being transported. If your receiver has one of these it may be on the bottom or the back of the receiver. Without knowing what model you have I can not be certain about if it has a transport lock or not. If you find one, you normally need to turn it about a half of a turn and pull it out.

Check your owners manual or look for a paper shipped along with it that may explain what you need to do. Many good and helpful things can be found in the owners or operation manual that comes with every new piece of equipment.

If this was not helpful for you please respond back with the information I have asked for and more detail about what you have actually done to try and make this work.

Thanks

Dave

Make sure you have put the transmitter for the wirless speaker in the slot on the back of the reciever, it is a slim white device that is about 3 to 5 inches long?? and maybe half an inch thick. and make sure it is put in the right way.

Then make sure the wireless speaker is plugged in to the wall outlet.

If this does not work for you it may require being taken in to an authorized panasonic service center. when one part of the wireless system fails (transmitter or reciever) they both must be replaced. they are not interchangable from one panasonic to another.
They have a code in each unit that lets the wireless speaker that came with it only work with the reciever it was sold with.

I have even seen times where the store that sells them swapped the transmitters of two units and then they had two customers very mad at them because the wireless speakers did not work for either person.

Let me know if I can be of any more help.

SA-HT680 F61 Error

Typically the F61 error is a protection error indicating that there is a problem with the output amplifier section. The failiing part is usually IC501 (part number RSN311W64D) which costs about $95. Have this unit checked as there are other possibilities.
