Unplug the power adapter at both ends (at the console and especially at the power outlet). Give the capacitors at least a minute to completely dissipate residual energy. Then, hook it back up and it should be good to go.

I would give credit to someone else for this super simple solution. But, it's all over the internet.

It sounds as though you were hit by a power surge.  Most power-surges are preceded by a sort of power loss.  The surge probably fried the wii.
You could try getting a new power cord, but I bet you wii is dead.  If you purchased any sort of service plan you are entitled to a new one through the retail store, otherwise nintendo will not refund your wii as power surges are not covered by the manufacturer.  If you bought it from bestbuy i hope you took the sales man's advice and purchased the plan.

First, Check your wii adaptor, In normal conditions the wii adapter provides the output 12volt. You can test the output using multimeter or a 12volt lamp.

then
plug it into the outlet, If the light is still off/flashing, disconnect the AC Adapter unplug from the wall outlet, wait 2 minutes and plug it back into the outlet. Turn the console power ON.

hopefully this help..

I suspect your Wall supply unit is faulty, replace it. If you have and know how to use a Multimeter set to Volts and check if there is any voltage from the Wall PSU.

Can't turn wii back on

Did you unplug it from the Wii, or from the Wall Outlet? You need to unplug it from the wall outlet, not the Wii. If you haven't unplugged it from the wall outlet and left it unplugged for 5 to 10 minutes, then unplug it from the wall outlet and leave unplugged for a good 5 to 10 minutes.

This is a common problem with the Wii. Even if it's hooked up to a surge protector. If there was a power surge, or the power went out, etc...anything, this will happen. The problem is with the AC adapter, not the Wii itself, so power to the AC adapter needs to be cut off.

There is a circuit inside the AC adapter that needs to be reset. Unplug the AC adapter from the wall/surge protector outlet. Don't unlpug it from the Wii, it has to be at the outlet. You have to kill power to the adapter.

Unlpug it from the wall/surge protector outlet, and leave it unplugged for 5 or 10 minutes. This will kill power to the AC adapter, and give the circuit time to reset. When you plug the adapter back into the outlet after 5 or 10 minutes, the red led on the front should be lit up.

My wii won't turn on

This should fix your problem. Disconnect all the cords from the system. You need to unplug the ac adapter/power cord from your wwi system and from the electrical socket /or power surge protecter bar. It should not be connected to any thing! Let it sit unconecteded for about 5 minutes. This should reset it. Then replug the adapter/power cord back in to electical outlet and to the wii system. Then press the power button on the wii, it should turn back on. Your problem should be fixed. Then you can replug the rest of the cords back in for the system. If this does not work I suggest that you buy a new ac adapter/power cord, there could be a short in the one you have, before you send in your system to be fixed or spend a lot of money for a new wwi system. You can buy a new ac adapter/power cord on ebay for about 5 to 10 dollors usually with free shipping. I hope that this has helped you fix the problem. Posted by Motherbowen on June 17th, 2009.

Wii system not powering up

There was a power surge which caused my WII to not power on anymore.
Unplugging the power adaptor fromt he wall for 5 minutes and then plugging it back in
fixed the problem.
