Because you did not buy one with the built-in power supply, I would return it for a different model instead with built-in power supply.

I haven't heard of a radio/tv combo since the demise of vhf tv.

A reasonable radio reception could be derived from the vhf tv signal making a usable unit without the bother of an additional aerial. For use with uhf tv the radio would probably need an additional aerial for decent fm radio reception - unless the radio is am only...

You don't say how old your combo is or give any details. I think the screw terminals could be intended to be connected to a 300 ohm balanced dipole aerial for radio reception only or to mount a loop aerial for indoor tv reception only, if the tv is intended for uhf analogue reception.

If the tv isn't equipped with a standard socket for the usual 75 ohm coaxial type aerial lead it is possible the set manufacturer originally supplied an adaptor to fit to those two screws in order to provide a regular aerial socket.

Without a much more detailed description, these are the only comments I am able to make.

My television won't show a picture. There is a blue screen with the sign saying no signal. Is there something I can do to fix it?

It depends on what equipment you have attached. But back to basics, check that your aerial has not got a loose connection. Swap with another lead if you can. On remote, use Source or Input button to scroll to DTV or the HDMI input being used from attached equipment. You may want to swap HDMI to check that connection. If using attached equipment, check Input Select or similar on it. Check aerial connection of attached equipment. If using a signal amplifier for aerial make sure power is on to that. Without more about your setup this will have to do. (If your tv signal is coming from attached equipment check it is turned on.)

I can get a picture on my TV but it's all snowy

This could be due to a loose plug or deterioration of the aerial cable or a bad connector. Since I don't know where your aerial comes from I can't be more specific but
Have the antenna cable checked or try the tv on someone else's antenna. Snowy pictures are usually caused by a poor aerial signal (aerial = antenna),

Why does my tv show no signal

It likely has a weak tuner, made that way, not a product fault and will work with catv, devices and boosted signals. Other than that, check inputs on setup menu and see if there's an option to switch from cable to aerial as well as settings for a default channel setup that switches between clear signal and a set top box for scrambled channels.

Picture Freezing on Flat Screen TV

The symptoms you describe are indicative of a weak signal. If all your connections and cables are in good order, then you may need to either adjust your aerial or place a booster into the system.
If you have had no problems up until recently, it would suggest to me that something has changed to cause this. The normal problems are corroded connections at the aerial, or the aerial has rotated due to wind etc.
If you choose to put a booster into the aerial system, put it as near to the aerial as possible.
If you already have a booster in place, is it working?

Picture and sound break up on ITV3.

You'll need to tell us what TV, set top box you have for us to help. In the meantime, check your aerial connections to make sure they are secure and try a retune after that. Often, doing a retune without the aerial connected, then a full retune with it connected does the trick; this 'flushes' old channel settings in some equipment. In my area, ITV3 is a bit iffy and I cured my problem by checking all my coax connections up to and including booster and aerial.

TV has sound, but picture not clear and in black and white. Model P42W46X

Is the picture "snowy"?
- I mean is the signal weak?
If so, check your aerial cable has not come loose at the back of the TV.

If you have another TV, or can bnorrow one from a friend/neighbor, plug this into your cable and see if the picture is ok. If so, you have a tuner fault in your TV & will need to call an engineer.
If not, then the fault is with your cable co. or outside aerial, (whichever system you have plugged in there).

your lcd tv is most likely not getting enough reception for the visual signal, try switching your tv back to analog signal (not digital) if you can by switching off av on remote, do you get your picture back, if yes thats your problem check your aerial, aerial leads and plugs, also do you have an aerial amplifier plugged into a power point, is it turned on to aplify signal.

You need to try and isolate the piece of equipment which is causing the problem.

You've already tried the aerial lead direct to the TV and this is OK.

Disconnect all scart leads and try the RF on its own.

Try the Aerial lead to video, then video to TV.

Try aerial direct to Sky box, then to TV.

Try just connecting the RF out from the Sky box to the TV (no aerial input), can you tune into a good channel 68 picture from the Sky box.

Then Try the VCR to the Sky box (no aerial input), see if you can tune into the VCR and Sky channel.
Hope that helps.......
