98 Pontiac Grand Prix load front end roaring?

Defective fan clutch, if it has one. With a cold engine only, try spinning the fan blade by hand. If it does not turn freely, the fan clutch is defective. Warning: When the engine is hot, the fan can turn on by itself with the car not running and keys are NOT in the ignition.

Makes a humming nose when you press start

Hi,

Gas Dryers may produce buzz when the solenoid opens. The valve clicks at the start of the heat cycle, start of ignition and when the burner turns off. The flame makes a low roaring sound.

Make sure nothing is loose inside the drum. Check all exposed screws, and make sure they are tight.

Make sure dryer is level on the floor, and that nothing is leaning against the dryer.

Check for foreign objects in the drum. (Coins, buttons and zippers will make a rattling sound as they roll around in the drum)

Good Luck and have a nice day
Rating the solution is highly appreciated

My Fridgedare dryer starts to make a roaring noise at or about 20 minutes into the cycle but does not shut down. I removed the blower-motor assembly and everything turns free. Could this be a bearing...

The bearings get hot and expand causing this noise. You must spin the bearings by hand to feel the roughnees of a rotating bearing that is bad. Take a shick and placing it to the bearings housing will work with your ear at the other end of the stick. It will work just like a stesphscope just like a doctor checking your heartbeat. A noisy bearing will be heard through the stick very clearly while a good bearing will sound running smoothly instead

Loud noise

OK, not too sure about this, but...about the only thing that will make a dryer make the sound you describe is a diconnected vent pipe or a problem with the vent fan. Check to see if the vent pipe is connected first.

Kenmore dryer makes roaring oise when the drum turns

I have the same problem. I thought originally it was the seal around the drum but we pinpointed it to the fan motor. We think there is something wrapped around the fan motor or the bearings is going out.We would have to take everything out the drum and belt and motor to get to the problem. If you take the back panel off and take the lint trap off you can turn the fan and you can hear the loud noise. We tried spraying wd-40 around the fan pin but don't get any on the motor. It will burn it up if you do that. But it didn't work so you will have to take everything out.

Roaring Sound During Operation of Dryer

Does the roaring sound occur after the machine warms up? If so, it could be a bad drum bearing. the heat from the dryer causes it to expand in its housing and, since it may been defective, could start "roaring". If so, The dryer drum shaft/bearing assembly will need to be replaced

If however, the roaring is immediate upon start up then u may have a bearing in your dryer motor. The entire motor may have to be replaced.
