A complication is that the panasonic tv is attached to a BT freebox setup and both the panasonic and BT remotes have to be used; the panasonic remote switches on and off - all other functions are operated by the BT remote. Nothing about input/channel information comes up on the i of the BT remote.

sorry still no joy. I cannot get anything about input/channel information when I press i - none of the error codes mention EC1/RGB in the troubleshooting section

  • williamst137 Mar 16, 2011

yes that seems to have done the trick. many thanks

    Press the i button(located under 9) on the remote. i= Input/channel information.

If it does not resolve it press the i button on your cable/settop box remote.

But still the original Panasonic remote should do the job. I understand your concern. I use two remotes too(one for tv and one for box)

Its not an error code. It is just displaying the input to which the video source is connected. See the table on page 44 of this manual

Also if this problem was not there before then you can restore factory setting from the SETUP menu

I can't get a signal because this tv don't have cable antenna terminal the tv has rgb terminal. I don't know what to do?

RGB is for a computer screen display signal and has nothing to do with TV display of channels. You must have a Component hook up, it is a yellow cable, a red and a white one. Yellow is video signal, the red and white are sound.

You are looking for the Status Key on the remote - Using the original TV remote look for an oblong TV screen with a cross in it. Sometimes the i key will remove the display. (normally left of the 0 button)

When the dvd player plays EC1 is displayed on screen

Hi.

EC1 means "External Channel 1". EC! indicates one of the eternal connections. If only EC1 is displayed and you get no picture then you have the input tuned on the wrong connector. Try using the source/input select button on DVD remote to find the right input.

If the On screen display belongs to the TV the source/input select button on TV remote.

If EC1 is displayed and you can play movie, than that is normal.

Regards.

On the remote for the video player, there should be a button labeled DISPLAY or DISP.That should turn it off.If you have any questions or need more help, just comment here and I will get an autolink to your post and reply ASAP.I really encourage responses so I can follow up properly as I know where you stand and asking someone else restarts all the explaining because we cannot see other 'Expert's' responses.Good luck,Greg

Xerox xa7 19" lcd monitor

That means that you have a defective inverter board.

The inverter is a small power board that power up the LCD backlight lamp, determining light intensity, when it is like that, the inverter is defective and must be replaced.
