Question about Canon PC-921 Black and White Copier

1 Answer

Paper jam I knocked the copier off of a table and I broke the actuator off. It flashed paper jam when I turn the copier on. I need to replace the actuator but I don't know where it goes. I work at a daycare and I was moving a table. It was either save the kids or the copier. I chose the kids.

What happens if you pull paper jam the wrong way

You may break any of the plastic switches actuators, which could cause a problem and your printer would not work until you replace that part that is broken. Depending on what area of the printer you broke the problem will be shown on your printer pannel.

Paper jam .what to do.

No, a switch actuator is trapped down or has been knocked out of it's mount.

J01 error, but no paper jam; can't re-set

Remove the toner cartridge.

There should be 2 switch actuators sticking up from the base.

It sounds like one of these actuators has been knocked loose. Try to clip the actuator back on to the sensor.

This is a TOUGH job, you may need a sercive tech to look at it.

Lock down

Is sounds like your exit sensor actuator has been knocked off. It's not seeing the paper hitting the exit sensor and shutting down.

Paper jam

Sounds to me like the paper jam switch is broken. Open the back door and look at the center where the paper feeds between the rollers. There should be a small plastic switch actuator sticking up, it probably got broke off.....

[No Paper] error

take out the paper tray and look inside. You will see a feed tire about 4 inches in, on the upper frame over where the paper stack would be. Right behind that feed tire, there should be a black hook shaped actuator that contacts the paper stack when you put the tray in. It is about 3 inches long.
Either that is knocked off or the sensor popped out of its slots.
The board could be bad, but that is very unlikely.
95 percent of the time that actuator is knocked off or the sensoe is out of place.
If you cant find the actuator, if that is the problem, you can slip a piece of tape , not scotch tape, some type of tape you cant see through, into the channel of that sensor. the only difference you would notice is you would not get an out of paper message but a jam when you ran out of paper.
