Question about liftmaster Chamberlain Garage Door Opener Transmitter 300MC

1 Answer

The motor and light work but chain does not move. It is on the wheels and I cant see any problem. At first it would only raise door three or so inches now not at all. I thought manual handle might be prob but seemed to get that reengaged but still no luck. I unplugged. Its a 1/3 model about ten yrs old. Thanks for any ideas!

Look at the drive moter sprocket to make sure that it is properly locked to the drive shaft. they sometime have a set screw locking the sprocket to the drive shaft. It also could be that the drive sprocket is locked down to the drive shaft with a set screw and a keyway. A keyway is a slot milled into the shaft to accept a square piece of square metal. Their is also a small keyway milled into the inside deminsion of the drive sprocket allowing the drive shaft to drive the sprocket.

Cannot open my garage door manually after I disengage it from the garage door opener (chain drive)

They are not light weight but there is no reason if the motor can raise it, then you cannot raise it by hand.

Fix my Craftsman 139.53973SRT garage door opener? When the button is pushed, the motor runs but the chain doesn't move. When I get on a ladder and try to pull the chain (help it along) it will move o

Pull the cord that releases the traveler from the door and manually raise and lower the door to make sure the door isn't binding anywhere. Then actuate the opener and watch to ensure the traveler moves along the rail. If this is all successful, you may need to adjust the sensitivity of the opener.
Good luck!

The garage door will open and then close then open and then the light starts to flash it's a Merlin 230t

This just happened to me. The issue was that the chain that the motor moves back and forth to open/close the door needed to be tightened as the tension had become slack, so the door was hitting the ground hard when it closed and the system automatically raised the door. I closed the door by adjusting the downward travel and then tightened the chain tension by twisting the bit at the of the chain (you'll see it and can use your fingers to do this), once done, then it was a matter of adjusting the upward and downward travel knobs and testing the door to make sure the door was back to normal.

It wont move it works but the weals dont move

Check that the chain is still on both the drivewheel(the part on the motor) and the freewheel (the part on the wheel). If that is connected well, check if the chain moves when you rev it. If the chain moves but the wheel still doesn't move, the freewheel, or gear connected to the wheel, is probably broken and you need to get a new rear wheel. If it doesn't move, the motor is most likely shot, and you're going to need to order a new motor, unless you are confident in taking apart the motor and replacing whatever needs replacing within it.

How to adjust front derallier on fuji 18 speed

You will need to raise the back wheel to perform these adjustments... so that you can activate the pedals and oberve closely the functioning, as you adjust....

On the tube mounting: The derailleur needs to just clear the teeth of the front chain wheels, as it moves from one to the other. It needs to be square with the chain wheels.

The other adjustments are limiting in nature. You need the derailleur to not move the chain off of the outside of either front chain wheel. as you get closer, move the rear derailleur to extremes and then shift the front derailleur, slow and fast..... Limit is correct when you can move the derailleur so as to not ride on the chain, but not throw the chain off the wheels.

Sometimes, guys turn the front derailleur, slightly so that the last portion of the derailleur body gives the chain a little boost to the bigger gear...This is just a very small amount. Sometimes it just works better that way.

Liftmaster - push button to open door, motor runs as normal but chain does not move to raise door

Remove the cover from the motor unit and check the drive gear. It is a white nylon gear just in front of the motor and I am sure you will find it is stripped. The part number for this gear is 41A2817 and is available at any good door opener service company. It comes with instructions.

My 1/2 hp craftsman garage opener won't go down

It sounds like it is out of alignment. The motor does detect excess pressure incase something or someone is underneath and the light sensor is not detecting anything. The pressure on the motor does change from when the door is all the way up to when it has the full weight of the door on the chain before it touches down. The spring offsets most of the weight of the door, but it still takes weight. Maybe when the motor is taking more of the weight, it is still shifting in a way to throw off the alignment. Also, you could disconnect the door from the chain, try manually moving the door and see how much weight the motor is taking at what points. Good luck!

Craftman door opener brand new wont work?

Sounds like the drive gear is stripped. Remove the cover and take a look. It is white nylon and is just in front of the motor.

Craftsman opener motor works, but chain does not move.

If the motor is working but the chain does not move you must remove the cover on the motor and check to see that the chain is on the sprocket. If the chain is on the sprocket and the sprocket is not moving but the motor shaft is moving then the sprocket must be retightened onto the motor shaft.
