Question about Hitachi VME645LA 8mm Analog Camcorder

I have a Hitachi 8mm camcorder VM-E645LA . Has not been used in a while. Has problem ejecting the tape and once the tape is in will not slide down into postion.

Loaded tape into Samsung VP-L700U 8mm and received 'Emergency Eject' message. Tape now chewed. Repeated & ruined several new & used tapes, including cleaner tape. Camcorder was working a half...


Internal mounting screws for the tape chassis may have come loose and can no longer hold the tape in the correct position. You will need to disassemble the camcorder to access the tape mechanism.

I had this problem until I discovered that the tape had broke. Putting in a new tape solved the problem.

Canon UC1 8mm video camcorder


No solution..... but eager to know where one can get the battery packs and charger fir this camcorder (UC1) A 8 mm videotape is stuck within the camera housing and can not be ejected...No battery and charger available..
Where are those battery packs available f.i." SUNPAK RB-E77MF 6V 1700 mA ??

It's not tracking -- it's dirty heads -- you can purchase an 8mm head cleaning cassette and use it to cure these problems. Tapes recorded with the dirty heads may still have issues afterwards.
