I would like to purchase a 9 cup corningware purcolator coffee pot

Use approx. 1/2 cup of coffee to 10 cups of coffee....so for a full pot use 1-1/2 cups... then adjust to taste..

Because I own a espresso company,I believe I can help you. There is several things that can cause a coffee machine to over flow. 1, putting to much coffee in, where water can not drain through filter. 2. The grind of the coffee, if it is ground to fine, like ground for espresso, will not allow coffee to flow through filter , drip machine that are not under high pressure like espresso machines have to have ground more course. 3, wrong type of filters, not fine enough for water to flow, or made for high pump pressure machine such as espresso machine . 4, putting to much water in, is not an issue on a mr coffee, because even if you fill it to full cup line, it would have nothing to do with filter over flowing, besides the coffee grounds always absorb some of the water anyway. In conclusion, my positive professional diagnose is Grounds of coffee to course, and 4 scoops seem a bit to much for a filter of a mr coffee machine that holds only 12 cups. To test this is make a pot same way and use only two rounded scoops and see what happens, if does not over flow that solves that. But your saying I want it stronger, believe me I know. I too like my coffee strong and a flavorful . I have that solved too. Go to a good walk in espresso shop, like a star bucks, tell them you want some good strong blend and have it ( Ground for Drip) and then still only put two rounded scoops, it takes less do to the blend and kind of coffee. I know that most grocery stores sell a "cleaner" or two next to their coffee filters/coffee makers/kitchen appliances section. These are usually heavily acidic, and will do a great job of cleaining your coffee maker. I've always been wary of acid in my coffee though, so I just use white vinegar. It'll do a decent job of cleaning out the coffee maker. Run a 1:1 mix of water and vinegar through your coffee maker, drain it, then run water through at least twice.

Scaleing/deposits building up in a coffee maker are signs of imperfections in the water. All tap water has it, but if you don't want to worry about it, use bottled or filtred water in your coffee pot. Plus, your coffee will taste better!

I had a black and decker coffee pot do same thing and it was brand new. here is how I fixed it.
make sure the filter seated down good. If you look at the top of the coffee pot it should open up the little valve of the coffee filter holder. also mine had a little water spout above the coffee filter that swings over the filter. make sure it is over the filter. I know my coffee pot is different, but I think the problem is the opening from filter to coffee pot is not open some how so the water is flooding over the filter and going out the sides onto counter

Howdy, 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water. Pretend you are making a pot of coffee. It is recommended to do this every 2 months or so, more oftenif you have really hard water.
