You need to replace them, they seem to be broken on a lot of them. the part should be about 20 and about 30 labor. If they tell you that the part is not avalible go somewere ells, I order them and keep them in stock. You can allso get a stand alown thread stand.
hope this helps

How to adjust the tension on a 930 record

There is a dial on the top of your machine (shows + and -) just to the left of the decorative stitch selector. Plus increases the tension, minus decreases it.

Make sure that you raise the presser foot BEFORE threading the upper thread. This helps the thread seat properly in the tension guide.

Bernina 1008 thread tension is way too tight

Remember to raise the presser foot before you begin the upper threading process. May not be the problem, but you might try changing the needle and the type of thread you are using. Good luck with getting it fixed. Going back to the service provider is probably the best bet. You already paid for the service and they didn't fix the issue. Be sure to bring them a sample of how it is (mis)sewing.

I also pull the bobbin thread to the top of the fabric and gently hold both threads behind the presser foot until the machine completes the first stitch. That helps prevent the "thread nest" that is frequently created under your fabric. This is a procedure that is taught by Bernina instructors, and it does work.

A blunt needle can also cause this. Try pulling a button thread or any slightly thicker thread through all the tension springs, perhaps you have a blockage somewhere.

I have a Necchi 4900 and the thread catches on the bobbin holder , moves the bobbin holder out of place , james , have taken it out cleaned everthing under the bobbin and takewn the underneath cover

try changing the needle to see if that helps
if it doesn't,, then I suggest that the sewing machine be checked

to see if the hook and the hook race need to be replaced

Looking for a singer contempra 930 manuel to down load

The Singer Contempra 930 is almost a mirror image of the Singer model 1425. Only difference is placement of Stitch length & Reverse Stitch dial and a variation of the Rear Thread Guide. You can download a free pdf manual of the Singer Model 1425 from www.singerco.com.

The thread keeps tightening and loosening causing the stitching to be off.

This happened to me once on my machine...Pfaff. There was a teeny weeny bit of thread caught in the tension disks. I slid a piece of paper between the discs and eventually got it out. Also....if you sew with cones the thread tension often goes off because cones are not meant to be used on the spool holder. Buy a special device for holding cones of thread....it sorta looks like those verticle paper towel holders. (a disk with a stick poking up from it) This will solve your tension problems and prevent needles from breaking all the time. If neither of these ideas help......maybe your machine needs servicing. Give these a try first.....might save yourself a big repair bill. If you can't find the cone holder........wind off thread from your spool onto a bobbin and use that as your upper thread.

If you threaded the machine with the presser foot lever raised and the stitching is still loose, the tension control may need a new spring or the entire control may need to be replaced.

Berninas tend to be the only brand that hold their value and it would be worth the expense to take it to an authorized Bernina dealer for service and repair.

How to thread bicor vx 1005 sewing machine?

Most older machines start the thread from the spool on a spool holder then the thread goes through a tension dial, on to another tension holder inside the case. Then make sure the thread is going through a lever that goes up and down with the needle, through a thread holder near the needle.
