Question about Washing Machines

1 Answer

Hi i have a AEG Lavamat turbo 16830. It has not been used for 11 months and i have replugged it in but it starts to a wash cylce, fills with water and then pauses. The door led goes red. I then have to drain it manually as it will not drain. Any Help on what the issue could be. I presses the left two buttons and got E36. Thanks

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

Sorry but I do not know your particular machine BUT I would suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor lint tray/filter. It could be blocked up by limescale after all this time.
Here are my complete, general pre-typed guidance notes for checking both the filter and the motor. Please try to follow all of the steps ;-0)
-------------------------------------
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and most are held in by a round cover/knob.

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT!

It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF! (If it does not turn by hand/finger it could be gummed up with limescale. If it is come back to us please, briefly stating what has been done already).
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. If it doesn't work then the motor is malfunctioning!

Hope the filter is the problem and good luck!

I have an AEG Electrolux 16830 - I get an error code E10 - pressing the start switch recommences the program and it completes as normal. How do I reset the machine so this does not happen. An engineer...

E10 indicates that the water inlet hose is squashed or kinked.

First check the filter for coins or other junks.
Make sure the drain hose isn't blocked, restricted or kinked.

Hope this helps.. Good luck! ;)

Hi there, we too have a similar problem. Our new door handle part has arrived but we are having huge problems fitting it as we cant prise the grey outer trim off the door and thus can't get in to put the new door handle in.
Please help! How can we get the trim off without resorting to serious damage with a screwdriver!!!?

I have a aeg lavamat turbo washing machine .when start it the water does not got to the drum ane water never stops simply running

You have a syphon - the waste pipe is probably too low and the end sits in water in the drain, meaning the water runs through the machine and out the waste.
