My printer goes through the motion of printing but the paper comes out blank. I've an hp deskjet d2360 and there is ink in it

Possibility cartridge print head dry.

Solution 1:
Do a clean process
cartridge automatically. Press START - Control Panel - Printers and Faxes - HP Deskjet d2360 right click and select Printing Preferences - Select the Color tab - select Printer Services - select Clean cartridge, wait for the cleaning process is completed - Perform Test print. If the print test results, has good graphics, press Finish. If the graph is not clear or drop out, repeat the cleaning process once again.

Solution 2:
1. Open the cover printer, cartridges will move to the middle position.
2. Remove the cartridge (be careful, do not touch the element cartridges or print head by hand), then stick the tip cartridge (print head) to clean water
3. Then, attach the print head to a tissue paper. If there is a tissue paper used in ink (black cartridges, black block lines, and color cartridges, three color red yellow blue lines), means the flow of ink to the print head is normal. If the
tissue paper no trace of ink, attach back into the water, repeat the above process.
4. After process is complete no.3, clean the cartridges with a tissue paper (careful, do not touch the element cartridges or print head by hand, because it will damage the cartridge). After cartridge clear of the water, insert the cartridges into printer.

My canon mp830 is telling me that the print head is installed wrong. not sure how to fix the problem. we never changed the print head.

In this printer, like in most Canon ones, the printhead is separated from the ink cartridge and that makes the cartridge much cheaper to manufacture. The system is designed like that: the carrier is the one that moves everything along the page - fixed to a guide rail; in the carrier is inserted the printing head assembly - secured with a large lever situated on the left of the carrier; inside the print head the ink cartridges just slot in, thru pressure. You have a user sheet with that here
The error message is generated when the communication between the printing head and the motherboard is failing. The fault can be located in 3 places:
1 - at the connection between the printing head and the carrier : the head is badly inserted (it has shifted out of position) or its contacts are dirty. Remove the cartridges, disconnect the power mains, lift the lever and slide the head out then clean both sets of contacts: on the head and carriage. If this doesn't fixes it then
2 - the connection between the carrier and the mainboard - done by a ribbon cable that plugs in it. Move the carrier by hand at the middle of the printer then check the status of the cable: if it's intact (no tears or kinks) and if it's firmly plugged in. If the cable is damaged then it will have to be replaced - a visit to a repair shop will be mandatory, they are the only ones that have spares. If the cable is good then
3 - the processor no longer communicates with the buffer circuit. The only way to fix that would be by replacing the mainboard, but it's not worth it: it will be cheaper just to buy a new printer.

Error 5200

If the printer is turned on, turn it off then unplug from the outlet
Open the cover and move the ink cartridge holder to the middle part
Lift the gray lever then remove the print head along with the cartridges
Bring down the gray lever then close the cover
Plug the printer again and stand by until it warms up
Put the cartridges back to their position
Put back the print head then close the cover
Hopefully, it will work now.

I turn on the Pixma mp130. Print head slams to the right side. Display says "CHECK INK TANK" and alarm light blinks. I open the lid. Print head remains on far right. I depress teh closed lid...

It sound like the indicator strip has moved or is damaged.
  1. turn the printer on,
  2. get the cartridges to the middle,
  3. pull the power out.
  4. remove the head from the track and move it manually to its correct position.
  5. Be careful not to damage the plastic indicator strip that runs behind the print head. this strip is used to reference the heads position in the printer.
I hope this Helps Regards GM

How to remove the ink cartridges?

r_1.gif Make sure that the printer is on. The fontp.gif power light should be on, but not flashing. r_2.gif Open the printer cover. r_3.gif Press the fontb1.gif maintenance button. The print head moves to the black or color ink cartridge replacement position, the fontp.gif power light begins to flash, and the fontb1.gif error light begins to flash or remains on. When both cartridges are out of ink, the print head moves to the black ink cartridge replacement position first. After replacing the black cartridge, press the fontb1.gif maintenance button again to switch to the color cartridge replacement position. 98a04.gif r_4.gif Lift up the ink cartridge clamp as far as it will go. The cartridge rises partly out of the cartridge holder. Lift the cartridge out of the printer and dispose of it properly. Do not take the used cartridge apart or try to refill it. 98a05.gif r_5.gif Remove the new ink cartridge from its protective bag. Next, remove only the yellow tape seal from the cartridge. Do not touch the green IC chip on the side of the cartridge. 98a06.gif r_6.gif Place the ink cartridge into the ink cartridge holder, and then close the ink cartridge clamps. Do not apply excessive force to the cartridge. 98a07.gif r_7.gif Close the printer cover. r_8.gif Press the fontb1.gif maintenance button. The printer moves the print head and begins charging the ink delivery system. This process takes about thirty seconds to complete. When the ink charging process is finished, the printer returns the print head to its home position, the fontp.gif power light stops flashing and remains on, and the fontb1.gif error light goes out. 98a08.gif If you feel that my answer helped you then please give a vote for my answer.

Error 5200

There are 2 possible solutions to this problem.

1. Th first is really simple; replace the color ink cartridge.

2. a. The second is that you may lift the lid. Leave the on/off button in the "on" position.
b. Then unplug your machine while it is still in the "on" state.
c. While it is unplugged, lift the gray bar and move the print head to the middle position.
d. Remove the print cartridge head with the cartridges in it, and close the lid.
e. Now plug in your printer.
f. While printer is on, it will tell you that the cartridges are missing.
g. Go ahead and put the cartridges back into the machine and close the lid.
h. Machine should work fine now.

I hope this helps. Good Luck!

How do I install my new black cartridge? I mean, where does it go?

Perhaps the Lexmark X1200 Series User's Guide will be able to help you. Download using this link: Scroll to page 13 for instructions on how to replace the print cartridges.
Sometimes the ink cartridge carrier won't position automatically to the middle even when the printer is on and the cover is open. Just unplug the printer from the power source. With the cover open, hold the solid white strip and gently slide the carrier to the middle of the printer. Load the cartridges. Close the cover. Plug the printer back to power source. Thanks.

Printer Head needs removal to clean dried ink

Not a cleanable type head, filiment gets burnt, when ink is not around it when printing is done. Ie dodgy ink blocks lines or has air in it and has permanently stuffed the print head, fix on brothers is replace head, cost excessive.,..time for the bin and the newfound wisdom that inks aint just inks.

Ink empy or no inks is read in ink well compartment via a black flag in ink cartridge that must be up and floating as not to obstuct photocell in well area.. check the rectangler bump in rear middle of cartridge. All cartridges must have flags up ie not empty, seeing ink does not indicate a cartridge with ink, a little is always left to prevent air entering system, hence machine calling out no innk cartridge to prevent damage...
