Question about Fujitsu Siemens Televison & Video

1 Answer

Hello. I have a Fujitsu Siemens TV Myrica PDP-TVP PQ 42-1, and it is 5 years old. No problem until today. First did the colours slowly change. After re-starting the colours were ok for a short while, but after a minute the colours started to get weird again. Then after another minute the screen went black (there where one "ticking sound" like when it's shut on/off). After that the screen is black when the tv is started. Is that a complicated problem (expensive), or "just a fuse"? Best Regards, Tobias

    Hello.

Thank You for the response. I can open the tv, I'm just looking which part of the casing that can be removed (standing or laying flat?). I would think it is a power supply issue since we heard a clicking sound from a contactor.

Sounds like to me you either have a video processing problem or you have a powersupply issue. The only way to tell is to open set up and check the powersupply voltages and then go from there.

Let me know if you are willing to open that baby up and then we can check for correct power supply
voltages... Talk to you later. HDTV GURU JAY

Most voltages are on the boards near the test points. But check around in there and see if anything looks burnt or is running hot. Expecially the powersupply board. Be very careful in there. there are some extremely high voltage in their and you could get shocked... Just don't touch any of the heat sinks while it is running and you should be fine. You will need a volt meter and lay the unit down on its face and remove all screws securing the back panel.. After you get that done, make sure we can plug it in to the wall or get power to it for testing purposes. Once u have that, we are 1/2 way there..Then start checking voltages and write them down on a piece of paper... VCC, VS,VE,VSS ETC. Test all connections to ground and that will give you a good reference to start from.. Let me know what you find and then we can go from there... Good luck .... and be careful. Have a good one.. Fujitsu Siemens plasma TV P50 - works ok - the problem is the remote control, always been a problem - bad signal ? it was nessesary to directed very exact towards the TV and not too far away/less than 3 m/...

Check the remote control for its infra-red emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check by pressing all the buttons on it; and see whether all of it generates infrared signal while pressing. If it is found OK, check and replace the infrared sensor inside the TV. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. It has details about how to check a remote control; by one among the post. Pull up older posts. If the remote control is found OK; check and replace the infra-red sensor inside the TV. We got a Myrica PQ42-1 that takes the fuse in our house all the time. After 2-3 times it turns on. Is this normal??

I have the same problem. Returned the TV for warranty repair and got it back still with the same problem. "Change your fuses to 16A slow" was the message from FSC service shop. (16A=3500Watts!)

I have mounted a 10A fuse directly 'between the TV and the 230V outlet so the (house) fuse does not drop.

Now my ******* TV went all black, probably the backlight.

Flashing red light no screen fujitsu plasma

This is a common complaint with Fujitsu plasma displays with a few years age. It is most likely caused by the Main Power pcb.

See Fujitsu Service Bulletin on this problem. -see link below

A competent service technician should be able to implement the service bulletin.

I HAVE PLASMA TV MYRICA P50-2.

The link below is where you can get the information about how to buy Fujitsu television parts. I have no idea if they will sell to non contracted servicers. These sets are serviced mainly by board swapping. You can eaily buy boards that you think are defective, and they are not the fault. This is the gamble you will be taking when servicing these sets yourself.
