My Sony digital still camera F707 works very quick self timer (cca.2 sec.) May I readjust for original 10 seconds? Thanx for help!

Hi,
There is no setting to change self timer, default time is 10 seconds. However you can reset camera to restore default settings by pressing reset button located under battery compartment, try it as it might correct self timer problem.
Thanks.

'dear sir, i am having a problem with myh computer: It is a s ony dscf707 I get the error message : ' c:13:01 cannot access the disK How to get it working again: thanks for your help.

Hi,

The problem is that if you ever use the memory stick on other camera besides the Sony DSC-F707 or format the memory stick on a computer instead of using the camera's format feature, then you will experience the "Memory Stick Error C:13:01" problem.

Here's the solution that finally will solve your issue. Take any lead pencil. Take the eraser and rub it on the gold contacts on the memory stick as if you are erasing writing on paper.

Do this for about 30 seconds or more until you get all the gold contacts. Put the stick in the camera, switch to 'Setup', then turn the camera on. The 'C:13:01' error will automatically disappear. At this point, quickly format the memory stick using the camera's format feature.

CAUTION: NEVER FORMAT YOUR MEMORY STICK ON OTHER CAMERAS, USING A COMPUTER WITH A MEMORY STICK READER OR USING WINDOWS XP WITH A USB CABLE PLUGGED TO THE CAMERA. IT DOESN'T WORK. FORMAT YOUR MEMORY STICK USING THE CAMERA'S BUILT IN FUNCTION ONLY.

Please revert me, if you need more assistance, i would be very glad to assist you more.

If you were satisfied with the solution please rate this sollution.

I insert a memory stick and it says "No memory Stick" although it will take and record pictures . Does anyone know where i can purchase a 128 Memory stick for the DSC -F707?

You should purchase online from some secure seller.
Like here, its Sandisk Homepage.
search for the compatible Card from the bottom right tab.

Also Note that DSC -F707 doesn't support more than 128-Mb cards.

If helpful, Kindly DO RATE!
Best Regards.

My DSC-F707 won't record images.

Sounds like the CCD has developed a fault. I had a F717 which had similar faults but this turned out to be a batch of faulty CCD's which I know the F707 shared. This maybe why Sony are not keen to get involved as it will cost them money. JVC had a similar problem with some of it's Camcorders using a similar CCD and they replaced them FOC even those well out of warranty. Keep trying with Sony and mention the CCD and serial number of the F707 and see if it is one of the faulty batch.

DSC-F707 camera cuts off after 10 second , just bought a new battery.

I also bought an aftermarket battery for my F707 on Ebay and got the same "for info...." message.
I contacted the seller and they sent me a new one and it worked, don't see a way around it.

Sony digital dsc-f707 startup goes to "no memory stick"

Could be that the contacts on the camera are oxidised. Try cleaning the contacts with isopropyl alcohol and see if this helps. If not, it could indicate a circuitry problem. In this case, you'd probably be better off buying a new cam altogether!

Quality Problem

I had a Sony F707 for quite a number of photos before buying an F717. I found the F717 to underexpose by about 0.3EV relative to the F707, pretty consistently, so I just set the EV compensation on the F717 to +0.3EV most of the time. The F717's color balances tend to be neutral to cool compared to the F707's very (generally overly) warm, bright colors. This is a plus: you can easily snap them up in post processing where the F707's results sometimes clipped a lot due to the oversaturation. Of course, you have to make additional adjustments based on what kind of light values and contrast range the scene you're shooting has ...
