Question about Transcend 640GB Transcend StoreJet 25D3 USB3.0 External Hard Drive

My StoreJet 25 M3, 750Gb, USB 3 stopped being recognized by my PC shortly after its purchase (some hours only). The device cannot be recognized on many PC's and the indicator turns red when it is being plugged in. The drive did not fall and was handled with extreme care. There is a valuable data on it which I cannot access, neither the disc can be formatted (in order to hand it back to the lab, as the data is confidential). Please help me-it will be greatly appreciated. I need your timely assistance, guys. May you be blessed all, Sincerely Asher, Jerusalem, Israel

Hi twinrg, try "Updating the Driver / Software!"
"Go to this "Website!"
Fill-in necessary information.
ie: Model #, Brand, and or Operating System...

"Select the [Drivers / Firmware] you need from the "List."

    Dear Paul7of9, the driver cannot be downloaded neither from this site nor from any other resource on the Net. I appreciate your advice but it was not possible to solve my problem even with your help. Waiting for more of your tips, Cheers, Sasha

    So my understanding is; -10 is {subtracted} for "Not Helpful: Solutions!"
    But! When the "Solution is Very Helpful! = 5 or < LESS!"
    ? Is this "Correct"!?
    I have another ?Question?
    Do a number between a (100 to 1000) people respond quicker, and more to "Solution that do not help!"
    In comparison to the "Solutons that do?"

My Transcend StoreJet 500GB harddisk is not being detected on my Mac. The blue light keeps flashing.


If you are using the USB "Y" cable that has two male ends on one side then ditch it and try a regular usb cable. Regular being a cable that is USB to USB mini, one that as short as possible e.g. 36 inches or less. This solution is what solved my problem, so simple :)

click start control panel administrive tools ,computer management ,device manager scroll down universal serial bus controllers you should see a yellow question mark?
right click to reinstall drivers
make sure the lead/s that attach to this drive have a secure seating and are not bad/faulty the light on only tells that its getting power it might not be getting enough power you might test the lead/s or
just replace the cable of the hard disk, when you plugged the external disk drive you got that windows could recognize the USB device change the cable everything should work fine again, sometimes the wires inside the cable will be damaged due to bending or stretching or placing heavy equipment upon the cable,

S.O.S. I ejected my HD and when I plug it in again it can't be detected! I've tested my other HD and there's nothing wrong. I've even tried few other cables but to no avail. Please help!


Probably a corrupted driver.

Do you have another PC available to make sure the drive itself is OK? If it works on another PC you know for sure the drive is OK.

Uninstall the HD software through control panel>add/remove programs, then check the device manager and if the storejet is shown, remove it. Reboot, watching to make sure your PC does not search for the StoreJet (if it does, check your task manager for storejet software, disable it, then go back and remove it on the control panel again).

After a "clean" reboot, and after [patiently!!!] waiting for all your other subsystems to load, connect your StoreJet. It should be recognized, and be patient while the drivers are installed.... after your drive activity light stops, give it another minute.... then see if it is OK.

have you tried on another computer? (computer necessarily 100% working and clean of viruses)
if the same problem repeatedly, trying to change the usb cable on your trancend.
if still reached a dead end, get an external cassing, make sure that you get is 100% working.
put you TRANSCEND 500GB hdd into another cassing.

Scanner not detected


I have the same problem with my Canoscan LiDE 25 scanner used sparingly since purchase in 2008. Last used 3 days back after a gap of a few months when it scanned a few pages and then stopped working. On connecting the scanner to my laptop on Vista Home Premium 32-bit it shows "USB device not recognized". No change in status after uninstalling drivers, cleaning my system, and reinstalling drivers from the Canon CD, or Canon US site, or Canon UK site. Even tried VueScan but this also does not recognize the scanner. I find it hard to believe that a Canon product stops working in barely 5-6 years even though it is very sparingly used and stored in the original packing when not in use.

Transcend storejet 25 mobile 160gb show error " usb device not recognized"


Turn off CPU, Unplug Power cable, And all usb devices, let it sit for about 20mins. Plug it all back in. Turn on the CPU! Also make sure if your device requires "DRIVERS" or if you have a CD download and install that before anything.
