Question about Kodak EasyShare Z710 Digital Camera

HOW DO I RECHARGE THE BATTERY/NOT AN EFFEN WORD ABOUT THIS VERY IMPORTANT FEATURE IN THE BOOK

THIS MIGHT SEEM OBVIOUS TO MOST PEOPLE, BUT I'M NOT MOST PEOPLE FOR STARTERS. I DON'T KNOW HOW TO RECHARGE THE BATTERY ON MY CAMERA AND THE BOOK DOESN'T SAY A WORD ABOUT IT. (I GUESS THE MANUFACTURERS ASSUME THAT EVERYONE KNOWS HOW TO DO THIS) WELL I DON'T, AND WHAT'S WORSE THERE'S NOT A WORD PRINTED ABOUT IT IN THE MANUAL OR ON THE 'SUPPORT PAGES'. YOU CAN'T EVEN ENQUIRE ABOUT IT. ANYWAY, CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO RECHARGE THE BATTERY....

Thank you for responding. It's more than I got from going on the Kodak EasyShare website. The solution could not even be found and their tutorial was utterly useless. I guess they think that because they build these cameras and know them inside out, they think everyone else does too. The user manual was completely useless as well. thanks

I have a 7440, it looks similar to what you are showing.  i have two methods of charging....1- is a docking station approx. $30 and 2- a little wall charger that the battery sits in as charging...cost?? cheap. check with best buy or someone who sells the camera.... hope it works out for you...we are enjoying ours without any problems. Does this camera operate on regular AA bateries. Put 2 brand new ones in and it will not power up. The manual says Kodak does not "support" Alkaline batteries....

chrissy66 (12/10/2007)reply to this comment (by James DeRuvo - 12/12/2007)Sounds to me like your lens may have come out of alignment. Was it dropped recently? Since your camera is still under warranty, the best thing you can do is have Kodak should fix it. If your camera is out of warranty, or if Kodak refuses to repair it for free, the one thing you can try is to try resetting the camera.

Kodak is also of the opinion that lens errors also occur when you use batteries not recommended by Kodak.

I recently chatted with a kodak specialist about this issue and he recommends changing your batteries to NiMh rechargeable batteries. These are the batteries that the camera is designed to use and using other types - like alkalines, can often cause the lens error to occur. If that doesn't work, then the camera indeed does need repair.

Rechargeable Ni-MH Batteries (AA Size): These Ni-MH AA batteries last up to twice as long as alkaline batteries when used in your Digital Camera - and you can recharge them up to 1000 times in our rapid charger.

Oxy-Alkaline Digital Camera Battery (AA Size).

CRV3 Lithium Batteries: A non-rechargeable battery designed specifically for today's feature-rich cameras. This battery is the obvious choice for speed performance, and long life. It delivers faster flash recycle times and lasts up to 10% longer than our previous design!

Ni-MH Rechargeable Battery Pack: Provides exceptional capacity with its 2.5 hour fast charge cycle time; can be recharged up to 1000 times in the EasyShare Camera Dock or EasyShare Rapid Charger,

Can you use lithium batteries for Samsung BL103

Look in the menu on the battery feature...most cameras have 2 choices for batteries...and need to be set before changing the battery type..if it has in the battery (power feature) the choice to set it on the lithium ones..it means that will work ..if not ..use alkaline or ..get some rechargeable ..ones..cause they last more..and are not that expensive and can be recharged..

I have buy t-10 10 mega digital camera of olympus from home shop 18 but i am not much satisfied with detalis n features of camera like which kind of batteries are best for my camera ni-mh or alkaline or...

You must use good alkaline batteries or better, a set of high capacity NiMH rechargeables. Zinc or "long life" batteries just aren't up to the task, and they can leak and cause corrosion.

NiMH batteries with a capacity of 2700mAH are available, and these will last longer, per charge, than name brand alkalines, as well as being rechargeable. You can buy these with a charger fairly cheaply now (though they obviously cost more than disposables). You will probably want two sets, one to be on charge while you use the other.

My camera has stopped taking photos.

Please check your batteries. If they are rechargable it's possible they are losing their abilility to store electricity and if you use Alkaline then I'd advise switching to NIMH rechargeables or place a brand new set of High Output Alkalines in the camera.
Quite often low batteries can have enough power to switch on and light up but just don't have enough to fire or even charge the flash if it's switched on. Or to focus and take the picture. Batteries are the digital cameras biggest problem maker. It's the first thing I always go for because of this and also it's the cheapest repair if they are faulty. Even if you do use rechargables it's possible for one cell to suddenly die and that stops the other cells from doing their job. Obviously, in your case some power is getting through but check them anyway with a known good set.

If your fresh batteries don't do the trick then it looks like you will have to call into your local service agent. Obviously if your camera is under warranty it will be covered by the manufacturer and you can take it back to the place of purchase. Just remember to take you purchase receipt with you.

Good luck.

Camera possessed?

There is obviously a connection problem between the camera and the dock. Is it possible to recharge via a normal charger. I don't think you will get a repair- unless it is a young camera with some warranty left

Photo colors are not true on my new Kodak....something wrong?

The Kodak CX4310 is the same as the CX4300 but the 4310 is a Wal-Mart special color. The camera feature that controls color balance is called "white balance" and on the 4310, it is totally automatic. Which means you have no control. If your color is not correct, return the camera. There are not many cameras that use a dock to recharge the camera batteries and connect to the computer. So you will not have many choices if you are looking for a different camera. One camera (without a dock) you should look at, is the Olympus Stylus 300. It is a better choice than the Kodak. It uses rechargeable batteries and the charger is included.
