If you are getting that error try this
Check to make sure the locking bracket and screw have been removed from the print head.
Turn off the printer.
Open the lower cover on the front of the printer and remove the bracket and screw holding the print head in place.
Close the printer cover and turn on the printer.
The Pause light, begins flashing and the printer starts charging the ink delivery system.
If a different error then update me, thanks!!

Service required mean waste ink counter overflow. You need to reset it. SSC Service utility don't work with this type. The resetter is not for free, it's commercial. Only some distributor have it.

Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off.
I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with
the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the
printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

THESE PRINTERS ARE CONSIDERED BIC LIGHTERS IN A TECH'S WORLD BUT YOU COULD TRY RE-SETTING IT AND OR REMOVING ALL SOFTWARE AND RE-INSTALL FROM SCRATCH.
SOURCE: EPSON PICTUREMATE PRINTER WILL NOT ACCEPT 4GB
Here is a quote from the Epson website.
"These products were developed and released at a time when large capacity cards such as 2GB or 4GB SD cards were not commercially available or widely available. Therefore the printer and its memory card reader do not recognise larger capacity memory cards."
So you're stuck with it I'm afraid.
