Question about Malber WD1000 Front Load Washer/Dryer

1 Answer

Hi Folks, I have just realized why my Malber needed repairs after I first moved it seven years ago; I didn't have the transit spacers when I bought it second hand from a Polish couple. I have just moved again, and the people who used to service Malber in my area no longer do so. How do I track down some transit spacers for my next move, and is there any internet listing of Malber repair people? I live in Kitchener, Ontario Thanks for any help you can offer

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

Sorry. I doubt anyone on this forum could give you that information. It's just made up of ordinary guys and gals, probably at home, from all over the world, with experience of addressing problems and giving guidance for free on the web ;-0)

You will either have to search in local telephone directories OR stay on line and search for 'malber washer service' for instance or 'malber washer spares' and hope that you can find someone reasonably local.
Sorry again ;-0(
Good luck,
John C

I have put an 1989 350 engine in a 1983 chevy truck. Do I need a spacer between the block and motor mounts before I set the engine down in the truck?

You didn't mention what was in the 83. If it was a V8 smallblock, then no changes need to be made. All smallblock engines have provisions for engine mounts in the exact same places beginning in 1958.
If the engine had a 6 cylinder or a big block engine then you'd need to change the mounts. The mounts are bought according to the vehicle year they are used in. So, all smallblock mounts will fit your engine but may not match the holes in the chassis unless they are for that vehicle and year. (some do interchange though). Either way, no spacers or adapters are necessary..

Spacer and balance

The Malber has spacers but does not have a lever in the back so I am not sure what brand of machine you have. If it is the Malber, the spacers in the back are internal and need to be removed. They can be accessed by removing the hex screws and then removing the back panel. The spacers should fall to the bottom of the machine when the hex screws are removed. They can then be retrieved easily with the back panel removed. Be careful reaching into the back of the machine as there are many sharp edges in there.
