Ok sir,I am a radio technician and i have tested my TFD TV with another power supply and I still have to turn on a several times before it comes in.I was hoping there was some standard failure f.x . a bad electrolite capacitor inside the TV you know of.I am asking you because I dont have any measuring eqmt. any more.Otherwise I think I will just take it to some repairshop or throw it in tha bin, which I dont want because it is only 2 yrs old. Regards,Stefnir

Hello
There is some trouble in your Denver TFT1504. The most common amoung this is the power inverter board trouble. it has a power inverter board inside which gives voltages to different sections of the circuit board. The fault you indicates must be the trouble with 18VDC secondary votage that comes out of the power inverter board has failed. The inverters are very complicated in circuit nature, and without proper knowledge, no one can get it repaired. It is otherwords known as [SMPS]; [Sitched Mode Power Supply} also.
The voltage outputs from it are very critical and accurate, and must be; otherwise the display panel will get damaged with screen burns on it, which is irreparable. Normally these boards are replaced as card basis, rather than do bad surgery in it. some of the components, for example, if a chopper transformer in it, ahd damaged, you can't get it from open electronic market.
At present, the power supply is switching on, but, after switch on; the system control microprocessor detect a voltage failure, and sets the TV combo to standby, to prevent further damge to circuits. So i advice you to get the supply card from the authorised service center of Denver, nearby you, and replace it. If you haven't their authorised service center near your locality, just mail them, and they will send it to you. their mail address is here with me, with its user manual and I hereby give it to you for your information. OK.

When replacing the board, keep weare a handgloves, because the voltages in that board are coming from AC mains supply, and is fatal. OK.

There is an inverter for every TV, especially for TFT. Your Denver has two models. In one model, the power inverter board is inside , and in an other it is outside of the TV enclosed in a box. If the power inverter is ouside your TV, the back panel of your TV will have an extra socket for 12VDC IN, other than "Headphone, PC in, Full Scart and antenna. Your model is ot this type I understands.
If so, the power inverter board is inside the outer supply box. That should be replaced. In fact, the outer power supply unit shhould be replaced with a new one. If you open that unit, you can see how complicated that section is, eventhough there are small number of components in it.. There is a Note in the user manual of thour Denver TV, about connecting the outer power supply unit. states
    NOTE
Precautions when connecting to other equipment
When using external equipment with this TV set, please read the instruction manual of the external equipment.
Switch off all power supplies to the equipment and TV set before connection.
Always ensure that the input and output terminals are correctly connected

    Hello
Still the problem perists, just replace its memory IC. If mamory IC has fault, this type of symtoms will arise, I'm doing service work of all kinds of electronic entertainment equipments since 1974; and doing it very smoothly till too.
Memory IC is one, that can be see very near to the main system control IC, and a n eight terminal one. A very small IC, very easy to replace, and will be very cheap to buy too. Its four terminals at one side will be connected to negative supply rail, that we call earthed, and one terminal on the other side is serial data, and other is serial clock and one terminal is meant for positive supply line and the other one will be either left free or connected to earth. Replace the same with care and hopes this will solve your problem. OK.

Hi my samsung crt tv come up on start up but couldn't stay for more than few seconds before it goes standby. I've tried to check settings but could not even get anywhere before it goes back to standby

Whenever a television starts doing this the motherboard/main board and or power supply is usually at fault. The power supply can usually be rebuilt for around $150 depending upon the knowledge and skill of your local television repair shop. To replace the parts is usally more expensive then it would be to purchase another television ($300 and up). Are you sure this is the model number of your television because this model number is not for a CRT television. For troubleshooting you can unplug it overnight to try and power cycle it but it sounds like your problem is beyond doing any type of power cycle to get the television back going again. It would need the repair shop or to be discarded for another.

Will not start. HDD power light comes on for about 5 seconds, then goes out. I put it on standby, started again, and put back on standby, has not come on since.

It could be a faulty battery. Remove the battery & try to power up the laptop.
If the laptop did not power up after removing the battery, then notice the power receptacle where you plug the power adapter's cord to the laptop. While plugging the power cord in, notice if there is a spark occurring at the power receptacle. If the spark occurs, then disconnect internal drives & connectors one at a time until subsystem with short is identified. If power input still a short with bare motherboard, replace the motherboard. If the spark did not occur, then inspect the boards for burnt or melted components, cold solder on DC jack, open connections, or unseated cards.

I finally managed to solve this problem by unplugging everything - scarts - HDD cables - power etc and left it for an hour. When I turned it back on again the problem had sorted itself out.
