they are most likely stretched out. try messing with the equalizer to make the sound more crisp.

The foam is molded, you can not remold / repair
If it is a small tear you can repair with a bit of rubber cement. Eventuly it will fail and more will tear causing the sub to sound very bad

use silacone oe use tape like duck tape or electrical tape

Depending on how much you paid for the amp on eBay, and how well you like the JL product, it may very well be worth the money to get it fixed. As for the wallet damage, you'll have to ask JL or one of their dealers. But, since the Slash2's routinely sell for over $1,000, I'd estimate the cost to be pretty high.

First, I'd send an email to JL Audio tech support and see if they have a "flat-rate" repair option or if they can give you an estimate of the repair costs. My second option would be to talk to a local car audio shop that does component level repairs. In the first case, you'd get exact replacement parts and whatever warranty JL gives on repairs. Not so with the local option, but it would most likely be less expensive.

IVE HAD 2 JL 1000/1S DO THIS TO ME EACH TIME ITS TURNED OUT TO BE A SHORT IN THE RCA IMPUT BUT ALSO CHECK YOUR RCA CABLES AND THE SUB INPUT ON YOUR HEADUNIT

You can send it to JL Audio and they will fix the output stage you toasted and will also perform any mods or upgrades to bring it up to spec. This will set you back $ 180.00 plus shipping cost to send it to JL. I know it's expensive but you damn near get a whole new amp to rock your world. mark..

410$ plus shipping to have JL fix it for you or I can sell you a brand new sub with full factory warranty for about $ 475 shipped to your door

JL will replace everything but the magnet and basket and you still wouldnt have a warranty
or i can get you into something better for about 275 - 325 per sub

most replacement parts can be found on ebay such as the refoam kit for the w7 an the center dome cover.

you can get a new surrond from e-bay or from JL audio. They run about $300 if you get it through JL audio

no repair kits available will work on any spl sub. JL will fix the sub for about 410$ plus shipping or i can sell you a new sub with warranty (JL factory direct replacement) for about $ 475 shipped
