It could be a bad connection, or if a neighbor is on WiFi colse enough to you it will sometimes kick you off.

Why does my acer aspire 5315 wifi keep disconnecting and reconnecting?

hello sir.

Reason :-
1.Make sure your acer aspire is in range.
2.cheack is it your wireless disconnecting and reconnecting or is it your internet disconnecting and reconnecting.
3.Are you facing this issue with any other machine or is this the only one.
If this is the only computer in which your wifi connection is dropping then there is issue with wireless connectivity.

solution:-
1.Turn of your router and modem and then check the wireless connectivity.
If issue still persist then:-
2.Create a new network name and wireless security key and then connect to it:- Now check the wireless stability whether is it still disconnecting an reconnecting or is it stable now.

If issue still persist then bright your laptop close to router and then check wifi disconnecting any more or not if not then change the channel to 1 or 11 from your wireless router page.

Let me know if this worked for you or not.
If worked then please rate my solution.

Since its been on i cant get a internet connection

Hello and welcome to FixYa.Com
With laptops there are a few things to check in order to get your Internet Connection back online.
1. Make sure the laptop is plugged into the wall or has a fully charged battery. Some wireless adaptors will not work if the system is not plugged in. 2. Make sure the "WiFi" light is on if you are using WiFi. image.tiff 3. Make sure the Internet Cable is plugged into the right jack if you are using a cable. It should look like this: image.tiff 4. Make sure other computers can connect through the same wireless router if you are using one.

I hope this helps, and dont forget to vote!

Keep getting kicked off

when sharing internet connection, it's all about sequence when turning it on... Sequence in regard to what's turned on first, second etc... Here's the solution:
1. Turn everything off... modem, router...computers etc..
2. Turn on the wireless router FIRST and let it boot up.
3. Then turn on the modem and let it cycle up...
This allows your modem to lock onto the wifi router.
4. Turn everything else back on...
You should be good to go without drop outs...

If the power goes out, simply follow this sequence...
It's all about the sequence!!

What type of wireless PCMCIA card would I need for my gateway solo 5300 if I have verizon fios in my home? Thanks

Any type 1 or type 2 PCMCIA or PCCARD (Not Express Card) should work fine. However, due to the age of your computer, I would buy the cheapest card that support WiFi G. Wifi G is not only faster, but has a stronger and more reliable signal over version B.

Please note that I just found this article on the Internet about Verizon Fios which you may wish to check out first. http://www22.verizon.com/residentialhelp/fiosinternet/networking/setup/wi-fi/124650.htm

Good Luck

I have a samsung omnia i910 with verizon wireless. I already have to pay for a data package on the phone, and they want almost as much more to use it to tether or wifi to my laptop. Isn't there any other...

Hello, Missy.

I think back years ago for what I paid for full landline phone service, dial-up for Internet, limited cell service and cable service.

Even though it feels like a lot of $$$, these days, I am getting so much more for my $$$ (not to say that it's inexpensive).

I have Verizon service, also and have the "works" with my Blackberry, including data and VZNavigator. But, I have dropped my landline service (really don't need it anymore) and do have cable service (I use Comcast) and Verizon DSL.

Altogether, I think I'm paying about the same as years ago with higher technology, portability and convenience.

My advice to you is this: really evaluate what you need, rather than what you want. Compare providers side by side with your needs in mind.

Hope this helps.

Hello I have a problem connecting my router

In your router settings make sure you are broadcasting the SSID. Also make sure you have wep or wap on.

Double check your laptop to make sure the wireless is on.
