How can i resolve my pc from counterfieting without buying a new copy of windows??? do i have to delete some files?

Your OS is not "Genuine" after updating from Microsoft Update. Go buy a Genuine Copy from Microsoft.

I assume you unwittingly installed a counterfeit O/S. If you want to go from unwitting thief to forewarned felon keep asking ..
If you want to do the right thing
1. Buy a genuine copy of Win O/S or call MS, explain to them, you are an innocent victim of software coubnterfeiting, and ask them to help..they probably will give you licensed O/S at a discounted rate.

My xp is counterfieted how to overcome it

Did you actually BUY Windows for that computer? Or did someone else install or upgrade it for you? If you bought it, and if you still have the receipt for said copy, you can use that to prove to Windows that you have legitimate copy. If you DIDN'T buy it and installed a pirated copy onto your computer, or had someone else install it, then the only thing you can do is to go get a Valid copy.

Artcopy 55?

To resolve this error, complete steps A and B below. Step A:
  1. Open Windows Explorer.
  2. Go to C:\Program Files\LexmarkX73.
  3. Delete the Artcopy55.jac file.
  4. Open the Scan & Copy Control Program. (Go to Start, Programs, Lexmark X73, Scan & Copy Control Program.)
    The file will be rewritten with the latest settings.
Step B:
  1. Open Windows Explorer.
  2. Go to C:\Windows\Twain_32.
  3. Delete all folders except for the Lexmark folder.
  4. Reboot the computer.
Note: If completing the above procedure doesn't resolve the problem, JETSOFT recommend reinstalling Windows XP as a solution. (JETSOFT is the company that developed the Scan & Copy Control Program.)

It apearing that you may be victim of software counterfieting

  1. Launch Windows Task Manager.
  2. End wgatray.exe process in Task Manager.
  3. Restart Windows XP in Safe Mode.
  4. Delete WgaTray.exe from c:\Windows\System32.
  5. Delete WgaTray.exe from c:\Windows\System32\dllcache.
  6. Lauch RegEdit.
  7. Browse to the following location:
    Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify
  8. Delete the folder ‘WgaLogon’ and all its contents
  9. Reboot Windows XP.
Method 2

  1. Launch Windows Explorer and go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Windows Genuine Advantage\data
  2. Go to Tools -> Folder Option -> View.
  3. Select (click) Show Hidden Files and Folders option.
  4. Unselect (uncheck) Hide Protected Operating System Files option.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Delete everything in the data folder.
  7. Right click on data folder, and select Properties.
  8. Select (Check) Read-Only as the folder’s atributes.
  9. Click OK or Apply.
