Question about Epson 450W Projector

1 Answer

Image is not rectangle but it is not a typical keystone issue as it is square on left side and top but low on bottom right and skewed low on top right. It is a school projector on a mobile whiteboard, supported by an arm.

Try moving the screen right hand side away or towards the projector to correct the trapezoidal look on the right hand end

Hitachi ceiling projector image skewed. Its narrow at top and gets wider at the bottom

This is called the keystone setting, using your remote, it's somewhere in the menu functions. Since you didn't post a model number & I'm not psychic, :) I can't find your manual to give you more specific instructions! Here's a youtube video for an Epson

Is the picture a perfect rectangle shape on the screen. If not then either adjust the angle of the screen, or use the keystone function on the menu to correct it.

The whole projection is not square when projected onto the screen. How do we square it up?

if it looks like a trapezoid, you need to keystone it. you can either use the keystone buttons on the top panel or go into the menu under the image adjustments and select the keystone feature.

Make sure the projector's throw is pointed directly at the target ie. screen or wall etc. there's not much else it could be.

This is called "keystone adjustment". If you still have the owner's manual, it will describe how to do it. If you don't have the book, look on the button console on the projector, or on the remote for an icon that looks like a rectangle that is either narrow at the top or narrow at the bottom and press it. That will get you in the control. If there's no button, you will probably find it on the set up menu. It's pretty easy to do the adjustment, one way makes the image narrower at the top, the other makes it narrower at the bottom. Some older projectors just have a **** on the unit that changes the angle of one of the mirrors inside to accomplish the same thing. The reason for this adjustment is to compensate for the distortion of the image caused by a projector mounted near the ceiling and pointing down at the screen, or sitting near the floor and point up at the screen.
