Generally speaking, an amp protects itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

I had a power outage while watching my Panasonic TC-P65S2 Plasma. Once power was restored the TV will not power up. It will click as if it were going to power up. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

OK well what has happened i suspect, is that your set has been "Spiked" from a power disturbance, and this has damaged either the PSU, or an internal high voltage component, or both, and now, the Protection Circuitry in the SMPS unit, is "Sensing" a potential "Catastrophic fault", that may cause a fire an explosion or both, and accordingly the set MUST be shut down, so the protection circuitry does exactly that.
Your best bet, is to contact a local or head office of the TV's manufacturer, and ask them for a referral to an authorised servicing center. When contact is made with them, ask for a "Quote" for the repair, before allowing any repair work to be undertaken. This then at least will give you an idea as to costings and you can then make an informed decision as to repair or replace, as often these days i find in my shop anyway, many repairs can be very expensive, and often it would be better putting any monies that would have been spent on repair towards a NEW unit with a warranty.

3 BLINKS IS SHORT protection and most likely means a resistor near the convergence chips is bad.

Both of the STK-392-110 chips would have to be replaced along with the resistor.

I have start to finish instructions for this repair. Let me know if I can help you.

I have a SA-HT545 DVD home theater sound system and it shows F61 error. How can I fix this?

The F61 is the Panasonic code for protect mode. See the link below for an explanation of protect. In your case, there is an output amp pac that has failed. The cost for this ranges from $75-$100 for the part. Please update this if you are interested in repairing this unit and I'll get the exact parts required.

Panasonic SA-he75, displays an F70 error.

The F70 error is a code for "protect". See the link below for a general explanation of protect mode. Specifically for your unit, the output amplifier IC has failed. This can be replaced, but the parts cost will be in the $100 range. Please update this if you have further questions.

Hello. I've a panasonic camera model dmc-fs10. I bought it in uk over 2 months ago and its not doing well at the moment. The screen comes on and goes off on its own even if the power switch is turned on....

Teresa, the repair warranty can be honored in Australia if it says so in the small print. You need to show the warranty to the camera store representative.

It sounds like a power problem and not always in the battery. Are you sure the charger is working and charging battery properly. It may be essential to take the charger into the camera store so they can determine if that is the basis of your problem

Please rate my help++++Thanks for using FIXYA

My panasonic pt-56hx41 tv will not turn on. All it does when you press the power button the red light will come on for a few seconds and goes off. After that it will not do anything untill you unplug it...

projection TV`s have integrated protection circuits
built into the circuit design, these circuits turn the
power off automatically when a fault has bin detected this
is in order to prevent a more costly repair, these circuits monitor
power supply , vertical and horizontal deflection
over voltage, or x ray, and also faults with convergence circuits.
Diagnosing these faults require test equipment and a good knowledge of
electronic repair techniques, and also a repair manual.
