  • Reinsert the battery by wipping it out and place it in correct position I.E positive upperside of mobo
  • If the new battery it's not flat, then you should check for viruses.
  • You can go to Internet Time and click on the Update Now button. Before you do that, change your time and date to the current date, then do the Update.

How old is the battery ? it might be past its use by date
Batteries can only be charged a certain amount of times before they need to be replaced

Frequent Charging Shortens Battery Life Frequent charging shortens the life span of a Lithium ion battery. Batteries should be charged only after they expend all their power. b> Switching Batteries Switching batteries helps preserve battery life: If a cell phone or computer user puts in a spare battery while separately charging the primary Lithium ion battery, that helps extend the life of both batteries. b> Removing Batteries Most laptops charge the battery when a user plugs in the AC adapter. Users can adjust this setting by changing the power options. Windows places this option in the Control Panel, while the Gnome Linux desktop places power options under "Administrative Tools". Cell phones incorporate their own power-saving features that the user usually cannot control. b> When to Replace a Lithium Ion Battery If a laptop battery does not hold a charge for more than a few minutes, a user must replace the Lithium ion battery if he wants to use the computer without an AC adapter. b> Other Ways to Extend Battery Life Storing a battery in a cool, dry environment causes a lithium-ion battery to last a little longer and reduces the frequency of needed battery replacements. Change the date in the bios and not stored help me plz.. THNX

The date is not stored because the BIOS battery is flat. Replace the BIOS battery with a new one, most likely it is a 3 volt lithium battery type CR2032 then go into the BIOS setting and set the Date & Time.

How do you set the system date and time

To set the Date & Time, go into the BIOS setting - date 7 time.
When you set the Date & Time and you get this error again when you next boot up your computer, then most likely you have a flat BIOS battery.
Then replace this battery, it could be a coin size battery - 3 volt lithium battery type CR2032. and then go into the BIOS setting and set the Date & Time.

Bad back-up battery

If the computer cannot keep the Date and Time after you set it and when you boot up next time the Date and Time has changes or not set then the BIOS battery is flat and needs to be replaced.
When you remove the case the BIOS battery most likely will be a coin size 3volt lithium battery, type CR2032.
After replacing the BIOS battery, boot up the computer and go into the BIOS setting and set the Date & Time etc.

Date problem

When the Date and time error message comes up during booting up the computer, it means the BIOS requires configuration.
If this occurs every time you boot up your computer after changing the Date and Time then, this is caused by a flat BIOS battery.
The BIOS battery is ususlly a 20mm dia. 3 volt lithium battery type CR2030
Replace the BIOS battery and then configure the Date and Time and you won't get this error again.

What type of CMOS battery does a Dell Dinmension 4600 use?

Hi friend,
A coin-cell battery maintains computer configuration, date, and time information. The battery can last several years.
If you have to repeatedly reset time and date information after turning on the computer, replace the battery. You can read anything about your dell dimension 4600 PC like....how to change the battery click on LINK

Hi. The clock on my Acer will not keep the correct time any more and it doesnt change dates on the calendar either. Do I need to change a battery in my motherboard?

If you change the BIOS date and time and when you boot up next time and the date and time has changed back or is incorrect, then the most likely fault is a flat BIOS battery. Replace the BIOS battery, it maybe a coin type lithium 3volt battery. this is the most common type used in motherboards is a CR2030 lithium battery.

Why litium battery in mother board(intel, asus)?

The lithium battery is use to power up the RTC/CMOS chip which stores the date and time, and some essential configuration settings for your motherboard. If you notice that your computer clock is not displaying the proper date and/or time after you set it correctly, then you may have to change the battery.
