Question about Lexmark X3550 All-In-One Printer

My printer has randomly just stopped printing. It will photocopy and scan but whenever i send it a print job from my computer it does nothing

I have a lexmark x3400 printer and a windows 7 operating system. The current print job won't cancel and won't delete and I can't print anything else. I can't uninstall the device as it says the printer...


You will need to clear the print queue first before trying to send another print job. - Browse to Start -> cmd... and type in "NET STOP SPOOLER (this will stop the print spooler service) - Browse to your windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS\ folder - You should see files there ending in .SPL and .SHD created around the time you tried to print - delete these files. - Browse to Start -> type cmd... and type in "NET START SPOOLER" (this will restart the print spooler service) - Double click the printer icon in the lower-right corner of your taskbar to examine your print job queue and browse to View -> Refresh.

Al-1540 only scans, wont print says-data could not be sent to pri


it seems that the computer was trying to send the data to the printer through the wrong port. i went to the control panel in windows xp, and selected printers and scanners. and added a new printer (manually) as al-1540 cs on usb port 2. it alerted me that the software was not signed, i proceeded anyways. it asked if i wanted to keep the original printer , i said yes. and the test page printed away. so i would suggest people with similar problem to keep adding multiple copies of the printer again and again on usb ports 1,2,3... etc till it prints the test page. use the copy no. indicated in the printed test page to do all your print jobs in the future.

Will not print


Try unplugging the USB cable from the back of the computer, not from the back off the printer. Also, try deleting the printer from/at the printer/fax page and restarting your computer so it will reinstall. In either case, when checking the printer/fax folder, make sure there is nothing pending printing. If there is, click on delete all pending printing jobs. If there is a print job pending and you can not cancell/delete this job, then you must delete the printer icon and restart your computer. Aloha!

I cannot print but i can scan


Solution:-
Step one: - Restart the computer
Click Start and click Shut Down.
Click Restart or select Restart from the menu.
Click OK.
After the computer restarts, double-click the Printer icon in the system tray located at the bottom, right of the computer. The print queue opens. If no documents appear in the print queue, the issue is resolved.
If the issue continues, proceed to the next step.
Step two: - Check the product cable
Disconnect the USB cable from the product and from the computer.
Wait 5 to 6 seconds.
Reconnect the USB cable to the product and computer.
After the product is connected to the computer, the product should start printing the jobs in the print queue.
If the issue continues, proceed to the next step.
Step three: - Determine whether the product is paused or offline
Click Start and click Printers and Faxes. The Printers and Faxes window appears.
In the Printers and Faxes window, right-click the product icon and click Open . The Printers folder opens.
On the menu bar, click Printer.
Make sure that the Pause Printing and Use Printer Offline options are not selected. If a check mark appears next to either option, click to remove it.
If the menu includes Use Printer Online , click that option.
If neither Pause Printing nor Use Printer Offline is selected, press Esc to leave the menu without making changes.
If the issue continues, proceed to the next step.
Step four: - Stop the print queue
Double-click Macintosh HD.
Double-click the Application/Utilities folder.
Open the Print Setup Utility folder.
Double-click the appropriate product in the product list to open the print queue.
Click Start Jobs.
Step five: - Delete the print jobs
Double-click Macintosh HD.
Double-click the Application/Utilities folder.
Open the Print Setup Utility folder.
Click a print job and click the Delete icon. Repeat the steps for all the jobs in the print queue.
Click Start Jobs.
Double-click the appropriate product in the product list to open the print queue.
When the print queue is empty, click Start Jobs.
Try the print job again.
If the issue continues, proceed to the next step.
Step six: - Remove and re-add the product to the printer list
Double-click Macintosh HD.
Double-click the Application/Utilities folder.
Open the Print Setup Utility folder.
Select the appropriate product.
Click the red X to delete the product from the computer.
Disconnect the USB or Ethernet cable from the product.
Close all open windows and restart the computer.
After the computer is restarted, double-click Macintosh HD .
Double-click the Application/Utilities folder.
Open the Print Setup Utility folder.
Reconnect the USB or Ethernet cable to the product.
If the product is not automatically added, click Add.
Select the product to add and click the Add button. After a few seconds, the product appears in the printer list. Try the print job again.

Trouble with duplex printing


I think your problem is that the 5550 supports manual duplex printing. Print every other page then feed them through again. Never tried it though. Dave Reed

My printer won't print

I think there is a pending printing jobs on your printer try to cancel all the printing jobs then restart the computer so it will reset all the printing jobs you have. repeat these steps untill its ok. and make sure there is a paper on the paper tray before you do it.

Cannot print only one copy; prints the first page only . . . over and over again


Check the menu and got to printing options, it may be that the number of copies got changed, you can set it up to where it can make up to 999 copies!!!!! why that option is on there is a mystery.
