Sharp AR-M276 photocopier needs the maintenance counter to be reset. I have got the service manual which tells me the key sequence to get into Simulation mode but nothing happens when I press the key sequence. What am I doing wrong? The copier belongs to a community support group who can't afford the $700 service fee when nothing is wrong with machine. Please help

You have to reset fuser errors with simulation 14. Push P * C * then 14 then Start (the button you use to make copies) and it should reset the code. If not then replace the fuser.
SM 5-1 should turn the lamp on. If lamp blinks on and off it is the thermistor, if it does not it is the lamp, but check the contacts on the lamp/fuser -- they have been known to erode.
Also check thermal fuse, if defective replace.

Hi, from memory, the secret test commands are: # I CA #, then 81 to reset main copy count.

You had 5 jams in the fuser the hotarea on the left side of your machine.

Only other suggestion in book is replace memory modules plugged into imc board.

Try these steps

1.Press continously #key then Interrupt key then CA key then # key

2.If the display turns off it means that you are inside the simulation but if not do again step 1.


3.Press 81 then press enter then press 1 then enter
